**About the role**:
As a Data Engineering Team Lead, you will be responsible for leading a team of skilled data engineers while contributing to the design, implementation, and maintenance of the data platform. Your stakeholders will be for our finance, accounting, and capital markets departments and you will provide directions to team members and unblock them to support these stakeholders. Your role would ensure efficient data pipeline creation, data integration, and transformation processes. You will play a crucial role in driving data-driven decision-making across the organization by ensuring the availability and reliability of high-quality data.

**Qualifications and Skills**:

- Bachelor's or higher degree in Computer Science, Engineering, or a related field.
- Minimum 5 years of experience in data engineering.
- Experience in designing, architecting and building large scale data platforms on Snowflake Data Cloud.
- Proven experience in data engineering, ETL development, and data architecture.
- Leadership and team management skills, with a track record of leading and motivating technical teams.
- Proficiency in programming languages such as Python, SQL.
- Experience with data processing frameworks and tools (e.g. Apache Airflow, DBT).
- Familiarity with database systems (MySQL, PostgreSQL), data warehouse (Redshift, Snowflake) and data modeling concepts.
- Strong understanding of data warehousing and data lake concepts.
- Excellent problem-solving abilities and a proactive approach to identifying and addressing technical challenges.
- Effective communication skills to collaborate with technical and non-technical stakeholders.
- Experience with AWS and containerization technologies is a plus.

**Key Responsibilities**:
Team Leadership and Collaboration:

- Provide strong leadership to a team of data engineers, including mentoring, coaching, and technical guidance to execute tasks efficiently.
- Assign tasks, and monitor the progress of team members, communicate and escalate delays to ensure stakeholders are well informed of work progress.
- Ensure alignment between data engineering efforts and overall business goals.

Architecture, Development and Support:

- Develop, implement, and maintain robust and scalable data pipelines for ingesting, processing, and transforming data from various sources.
- Support production pipelines to maintain data SLA and work with the team to ensure coverage of on-call schedules.
- Ensure data quality, integrity, and accuracy throughout the pipeline.
- Contribute to the design and maintenance of the organization's data architecture, including data warehouses, data lakes, and ETL processes.
- Evaluate and implement appropriate technologies and tools to optimize data processing and storage.
- Monitor and optimize data pipeline performance, addressing bottlenecks and ensuring efficient data processing.
- Implement solutions for data scalability and availability to accommodate growing data volumes.
- Document data pipeline architecture, processes, workflows and incident playbook for reference and future improvements.
- Maintain clear and comprehensive documentation of data engineering standards and practices.
