**Social Conflict Research Consultant**:
**Social Conflict**
**Research** Consultant based in Peru to support the implementation of DI’s justice, rights, and security rapid response programming. As part of its support to the Ombudsman's Office (La Defensoria del Pueblo), DI will conduct an assessment of social conflict in Peru’s 14 regions. This assessment will allow the Ombudsman's Office to identify and understand the current conflict, its trends, and its consequences. To this end, DI is seeking a short-term consultant to develop research methodology for the preparation of specialized reports on the current conflict. The developed methodology will assist the Office for the Prevention of Social Conflicts and Governance (APCSG) at the Ombudsman’s Office to develop strategies to prevent and respond to conflicts and other disputes. The Social Conflict Research Consultant will be embedded within the APCSG.

**_Essential Job Duties:_**:

- Design a methodological guide for the preparation of specialized reports on social conflict in Peru’s regions.
- Collaborate closely with the APCSG and the Defensoria del Pueblo.
- Participation in coordination and work meetings with the APCSG and DI's team to monitor scheduled activities.

**_Deliverables_**
- Methodological guide for the preparation of specialized reports on social conflict in the regions.
- Presentation of a final report to the APSCG on the activities carried out corresponding to the methodological accompaniment of the preparation of specialized reports on social conflict in regions.

**_Qualifications:_**:

- A bachelor’s degree from a recognized university in political science, sociology, anthropology, or history (required).
- A master’s degree in human rights, sociology, political science, or similar studies (preferred).
- At least 3 years of experience in qualitative analysis, statistics, social and political analysis, and/or public policy analysis.
- Specific experience conducting research on social issues, conflicts, social movements, collective action and/or political identities.
- Ability to implement intercultural and gender sensitive approaches.
- Ability to use ICT tools and software for qualitative and quantitative data processing.
