Our team in South America is growing; we are currently recruiting for a Vice President of Sustainability, South America to join our Global Consulting line, which is ideally based in Lima, Peru or Santiago, Chile, but flexible to other locations in South America.

Its approach ensures the careful use of the world’s most precious resources, providing critical materials to supply chains in the most efficient way possible while supporting sustainable growth and balanced development. Ausenco provides all aspects of Sustainability consulting to the private and public sectors in the areas of Climate Change, Environmental Planning and Ecology, Geomatics and Virtualizations, Human Environment, Site Assessment and Remediation, De-Risk & Due Diligence, Geotechnical, Tailings & Supervision Support Services, Mine Closure & Reclamation, and Water Resource Management.
**About the role**
- The VP, Sustainability South America will be accountable to the Senior Vice President (SVP) of Sustainability.
- As the leader of the practice, the VP will lead operational, commercial, and talent initiatives to accelerate progress against the business's growth strategies.
- This leader will understand environmental management and consulting in the context of mining, power, transportation, industrial and infrastructure or land development projects.
- Lead and drive a culture of engagement in the consulting practice in line with Ausenco’s core values and support of Ausenco’s people and development programs.
- Identify, exploit and secure opportunities throughout South America to build and expand on the.
- Effectively use internal resources and external market knowledge to develop business with new and existing clients and create business plans that align with achieving the overall business strategy within the sustainability practice.
- Developing capabilities and experience within the global consulting practice and ensuring the successful delivery of services following Ausenco standards and clients’ expectations.
- Maintain a high personal profile in the external marketplace and participate directly in marketing significant opportunities.
- Ensure effective communication and exchange of best practices, knowledge, and expertise between staff in various locations and across multi-disciplinary specialties.
**About you**
- At least 15 years of proven consulting, engineering and/or project management experience with a consulting firm or other large organization.
- Previous experience fully managing a P&L, providing strategic oversight to a high-functioning business unit, growing and developing a client base, and expanding services and markets.
- Diverse experience (ideally throughout South America) in environmental consulting across all markets and sectors; concentrated experience in mining and renewable energy is strongly preferred.
- Established a network with potential clients, regulators, and environmental professionals.
- Bachelor’s degree in applied science, business, or engineering.
- A strong background in leadership and a proven track record of operating in a high-growth environment.
- The ability to create and share a vision and strategic direction, strong people, collaboration abilities, and a passion for developing and mentoring people.
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills with experience preparing proposals, delivering presentations, strong commercial acumen, understanding of financial reports/budgets, and developing business cases.
- Ability and willingness to travel throughout South America frequently with occasional global travel is required.
- Proficient in Spanish and English
