- About the Role- Core member of Peru Prospect Evaluation team responsible for identifying, executing and advancing exploration of porphyry-skarn copper projects. Accountable for carrying out high quality data capture, analysis, and interpretation leading to business decision making
- Assists in project evaluation, provision of technical guidance, and supports then maintain of a quality and healthy portfolioAccountabilities- Advice the country team in technical exploration decisions that involves geophysical data interpretation with timely recommendations that are properly documented.
- Selects target areas and appropriate methodologies for sampling and data collection to build ore body knowledge that enables value decisions for BHP.
- Develops, implements and monitors sampling-analysis protocols & QA/QC programs to quantify the quality, risks and compliance of geological data.
- Designs and executes non-invasive data collection methodologies and interpretations to provide data-driven geophysical guidance for the organisation.
- Performs geological modelling based on integrated datasets to analyse and interpret target areas and generate valuable orebody knowledge.
- Identifies, engages and manages a range of diverse internal and external stakeholders.
- Plans, tracks the delivery of and manages a project to generate value and drive the achievement of project outcomes.
- About You- Degree in Geology from a reputable university
- 10+ years experience in geosciences (including in specialist field), and solid understanding of exploration workflow as applied to base metal exploration with a demonstrable track record of success.
- Proficiency in common industry software for geoscientific data (ArcGIS Pro, Leapfrog, Oasis Montaj, etc)
- Post-graduate studies highly regarded.
- Spanish and English fluency
- Strong commitment to safety, social value and sustainability
- Understanding of the overall objectives of the country and wider objectives of the BHP Exploration
- Deep technical understanding and a strategic view of how to accomplish results through influencing to accomplish successful performance of the role.
