**Description**
**Main Responsibilities**
The Smart Ticketing System Engineer will provide support for the integration of large complex systems (including internal and external parties) and operational services on Hitachi’s digital solutions such as smart ticketing projects. The Smart Ticketing System Engineer will work with various internal and external stakeholders to devise the appropriate strategies for systems engineering activities, systems and services integration.
Specifically, the Smart Ticketing System Engineer will support:
- engagement with various stakeholders from concept definition to product / system delivery
- requirements analysis and development throughout the system development / project lifecycle
- verification and validation of functional, non-functional requirements
- work with other engineering disciplines to ensure the correct flow down of requirements and flow up of compliance evidence
- management of interfaces for both internal and external, and system design in conjunction with various parties
- work packages on projects with internal and external partners and suppliers for various levels of integration
- producing of the integration test strategy with input from all stakeholders (internal and external)
- production of documentation for all stages of the system development / project lifecycle
- customer meetings, workshops and calls, on-site and off-site on a regular basis
- relevant manager to ensure the delivery of development work packages to cost, schedule and quality
- project planning meetings and assist with maintaining the integration tasks in the project plan
- a collaborative approach in conjunction with Hitachi’s multidisciplinary engineering teams to achieve the company goals.
In addition to the duties and responsibilities listed, the job holder will be required to perform other duties assigned by the manager from time to time, as may be reasonably required of them.
**Key Skills & Experience**
It is our expectation that successful applicants should be able to demonstrate all of the experience and skills listed below:
**Essential Requirements**:
- Knowledge in AFC/Ticketing system with 3 year or more of experience in delivery of complex systems.
- Sound knowledge of Software/System Development Life Cycle for large and complex systems; writing requirements, interface management, verification & validation, defining test cases and test procedures
- Knowledge of system integration test strategy/plans for complex integration projects involving multiple 3rd party deliverables
- Sound knowledge of Project Management
- Knowledge of an Automated Fare Collection environment
- Knowledge of Computer Science environment
- Excellent relationship-building and communication skills in coordinating between diverse stakeholders both within the company (including broader group), as well as external 3rd parties
- Ability to communicate confidently across all levels of the business
- English proficiency
**Qualifications**
- 3 years or more of expertise in engineering / SW designing
**Desirable Requirements**
- Knowledge of Transportation
- Knowledge of SW Architectures
- Proficiency in a third language in addition to English and Spanish (e.g. French, German, Japanese)
