Radio Technician

**DUTIES**:
The incumbent is responsible for ensuring the proper operation of all unclassified radio systems at the Mission. This includes maintaining various radio networks and equipment for United States Government staff, vehicles, and official residences to guarantee seamless communications across all platforms. Responsible for the installation, maintenance, and removal of all voice, radio, and data cabling for the Mission, including the Chancery, official residences, Cusco consulate, and four additional agency locations in Lima to ensure 24-hour serviceability and accessibility of the radio systems.

The incumbent installs, configures, relocates and/or modifies radio, telephone, and data systems, as well as associated equipment, conduit installation and other cabling. The incumbent assists in maintaining all records and inventory for the Radio Section.

The incumbent works under the supervision of the Supervisory Radio/Telephone Technician and regularly assists the Telephone Section, as needed.

The incumbent must have the ability to lift up to 50 lbs. (23 kg) and must be able to climb to reach the repeaters.

**Experience**: A minimum of two (2) years of experience working in electronics, telecommunications, and/or network engineering.

Must have a **valid driver's license **with at least **five** **years** of driving experience.

**Education**: A minimum of three (3) years of professional education related to Electronics, Telecommunications, or Information Technology Systems is required.
