About the role

Reporting to the Reservations Manager, the Flight Reservations Specialist works closely with Latin American Reservations & local Operations teams in regard to handling the region's growing flight needs. The Flight Reservations Specialist will book and issue air tickets for groups and make changes as needed to domestic/regional flights (COG’s) and repositioning flights for CEOs (Tour Leaders) for the assigned trip codes and also provide support to the Flight Reservations Coordinators related to GDS, procedures, emergencies and blocks.

**Responsibilities**:
- Administer aspects of required air reservations, modifications, refunds and cancellations in a timely and efficient manner.- Communicate all significant details to the Reservations team, CEO’s and other relevant stakeholders in preparation for the trip.-
- Assist in the blocking process by communicating with the Air team, the airlines and the appropriate stakeholders.- Responsible for checking the Block Sheets and ensuring that blocks are confirmed in the correct flight and also the efficient use of them.- Provide general air support related to rates, systems (GDS), processes and procedures to team members.- Maintain constant communication with Flight Reservation team lead and members for any issues regarding reservations, systems or procedures.- As a Specialist, they will help and advise flight reservations coordinators and will act as a mentor.- As a Specialist, they will be able to make decisions with coordination of Reservations or Operations teams.- Other duties as assigned.

**Requirements**:
Must Have:
- 3+ years of experience working in flight reservations for travel agencies, tour operators or airlines. Experience with group series will be considered as an asset.- Knowledge and experience using GDS, preferably Amadeus, skilled in reservations, ticketing, refunds & exchanges.- Highly proficient in English, both written and spoken.- Intermediate computer skills ( Word, Excel, G Suite).- Excellent attention to detail and organizational skills.-
- Familiarity with Regional Geography.- Excellent teamwork skills and self motivation.- Positive and Innovative Attitude.- Passion for delivering superior customer service.

Nice to Have:
- Able to work in a Mac environment (Mac skills) and embraces technology.- Knowledge of G Adventures product in the region.
