Remote is fully remote (ah) and we love **Working Async**. This means you get to do your own schedule no matter the timezone. The Remote Engineering team uses a simple approach to productivity and task management and you can read more about it in **The Remote Flow**.

You'll be joining 100 engineers, spanning across Frontend, Backend, SRE and QA. We're organised into development teams composed with engineers, designers, product managers, operations and finance, each dedicated to achieving the same goals in a specific domain.

**The position**:
This is an exciting time to join Remote and make a personal difference in the global employment space as a **Junior Backend Engineer**, joining our **Support** **Engineering** team.

A **junior engineer** is someone that is mostly able to ship small tasks and collaborate on bigger features. You're not expected to be autonomous but you're expected to communicate your needs and struggles. It's fine not to know things, the most important aspect at this stage is to learn from others, embrace feedback and keep improving.

**Requirements**:**Must have (professional experience)**:

- 0-1 Years of experience working as Backend Engineer/Developer
- Basic knowledge of Postgres (or similar)
- CI/CD (GitLab, Github, Jenkins or similar)

**Nice to have**

Basic knowledge of
- Elixir
- Docker
- AWS
- React/Vue/Angular
- It's not required to have experience working remotely, but considered a plus.
- If you don't have experience working with Elixir_ o_ne month training and ongoing learning on the job will be provided._

**Key responsibilities**:

- Understanding scope of small features and can execute them without supervision
- Learning the codebase, the tools, frameworks used at Remote and improving your coding skills.

Remote's Total Rewards philosophy is to ensure fair unbiased compensation and fair pay along with competitive benefits in all locations in which we operate. We do not agree to or encourage cheap-labour practices and therefore pay a minimum annual salary of USD 40,000 per year, in all locations throughout the world. Actual compensation may vary based upon geographical location, experience, and/or skill level. However, it will never be below our minimum global compensation mentioned.
