Chief Transition Officer (CTO) Snowy Valleys – Between the Mountains and the Plains Situated on the western foothills of the snowy mountains between the ACT and the Murray River, the council region offers a vibrant country lifestyle and a diverse business community. About the Role The Chief Transition Officer will lead the transition team and manage the implementation of the council’s de‑amalgamation road map and implementation plan, ultimately creating two new council organisations. Key Responsibilities - Lead the transition team and align transition efforts with the de‑amalgamation implementation plan. - Develop an organisation change initiative and associated roadmap for de‑amalgamation. - Champion the council’s adopted de‑implementability management plan. - Develop and manage budgets and plans that support sound fiscal management and sustainability of the two new organisations. - Provide high‑level communication and advocacy, developing effective partnerships with internal and external stakeholders. - Apply relevant legislation within the Local Government context and navigate changing social, political, and economic issues. Qualifications & Experience - Highly experienced local government leader with a proven track record of delivering change. - Demonstrated ability to lead organisations and communities through periods of change. - Strong communication and advocacy skills. - Financial acumen and experience in budget development for large organisational changes. - Knowledge of relevant local government legislation and policy.
