Prestige Plants is seeking an experienced and driven Nursery Production Manager to lead operations across our two large-scale wholesale production nurseries located in Kinglake and Whittlesea, Victoria. This is a senior leadership role leading a team of more than 15 staff and managing our fully integrated, commercial horticultural operations across more than 100 acres. Our nurseries are wholesale production sites (not retail), producing and dispatching significant volumes of stock across propagation, small pots, trees, and advanced trees. About the Role As Nursery Production Manager, you will have end-to-end responsibility for people leadership, plant production & maintenance, and quality standards across both sites. You will oversee large teams, complex workflows, and high-volume production schedules while ensuring compliance, safety, and best-practice horticultural outcomes. This role suits a hands-on leader who is comfortable operating at scale and maintaining consistency across large areas and high output environments. Key Responsibilities - Lead, manage, and develop 15+ nursery staff across multiple production teams - Oversee all wholesale nursery production operations including small pot production, tree and advanced tree production, ongoing stock maintenance and presentation, irrigation checking & maintenance - Manage high-volume production planning, workflow coordination, and dispatch readiness - Ensure consistent quality and specification compliance across large quantities of stock - Implement and manage chemical application programs in line with regulatory and safety requirements - Set and maintain tree standards to ensure all trees are compliant with The Australian Tree Standard - Supervise irrigation operations that conserve resources and ensure 100% stock survival - Drive a proactive, safety-focused, and high-performance culture - Maintain exceptional attention to detail to uphold standards across large-scale sites - Identify and implement continuous improvement opportunities across productivity, efficiency, and quality - Work closely with the Prestige Alstonville Nursery Manager to coordinate plant production and maintenance across our nurseries About You - You are an experienced production-focused nursery professional with strong leadership capability and a track record of managing complex, large-scale horticultural operations. - Proven experience in commercial wholesale nursery production (not retail) - Demonstrated success managing large teams (15+ staff) - Strong expertise in tree and shrub production and maintenance - Solid experience with chemical application, safety systems, and compliance - Sound knowledge of The Australian Tree Standard - High level of organisation and attention to detail - Strong people leadership, communication, and problem-solving skills - A proactive, practical approach to managing production at scale Senior leadership role within a large and long-established wholesale nursery business Opportunity to manage large-scale, high-volume production sites Diverse and advanced horticultural operations Long-term role with scope to influence systems, standards, and growth How to Apply If you are a seasoned nursery production leader ready to manage operations at scale and drive excellence across major wholesale sites, we would welcome your application.
