We take great care to provide safe, and competitive seaport services to efficiently facilitate imports and exports through our Queensland ports. We are seeking an experienced and highly capable Senior Lawyer to provide specialist legal and governance advice with a strong focus on major infrastructure projects, procurement, and supporting the delivery of key corporate functions, including Legal, Governance and Company Secretarial. About the role - Draft, negotiate and advise on complex commercial contracts, including major procurement, construction and consultancy agreements. - Provide specialist legal advice across all stages of major infrastructure and capital projects. - Partner with commercial, operational and engineering teams to manage legal and regulatory risk. - Manage significant litigation, disputes, probity and conflict-of-interest matters. - Develop legal risk mitigation strategies and deliver legal training to staff. - Support governance functions, including Board and Committee processes, and act as Company Secretary as required. - Ensure compliance with the Corporations Act, Government Owned Corporations Act and related legislation. - Act as Privacy Officer, advising on privacy compliance. About you - Tertiary qualifications in Law and admission as a Solicitor in an Australian jurisdiction, with a current practising certificate. - Demonstrated ability to draft, negotiate and review a broad range of complex commercial contracts, including major procurement, construction, consultancy and services agreements. - Minimum 10 years’ experience in a senior legal and/or governance role. - Postgraduate qualifications in governance or commercial law. - Experience in infrastructure, procurement, construction or litigation.
