Our satellites, operating from geostationary orbit (GEO), weigh only 400 kg and utilize a proprietary software-defined radio payload. Each satellite can connect over two million people, and we're excited about the impact we'll soon have in the Philippines, Peru, Mexico, and more.

About this RoleThis Satellite Network Analysis Engineer position will contribute to both commercial and US government programs. As part of our team, you'll work on satellite network design for global solutions, optimizing high-throughput satellite networks from design to operation.
- You'll model and analyze satellite networks using in-house software.
- You'll interface with Commercial, US Government, and Executive teams.
- You'll communicate satellite network designs externally as a sales engineer.
- You'll aid in regulatory efforts regarding spectrum use and coordination.
- You'll influence the design of analysis software to excel in your role.
To be successful in this role, you'll need:
- A Bachelor of Science degree in Aerospace Engineering, Electrical Engineering, Computer Science, or Physics (or equivalent background knowledge).
- Strong ability to optimize systems by juggling many variables, considering all options, and running detailed trade studies.
- Ability to craft polished presentations, deliver them to potential partners, and answer technical questions posed by partners.
- Process-oriented mindset, constantly seeking more efficient ways of doing things and anticipating features needed from internal and external tools.
- Scripting language experience: Python (Preferred), MATLAB, R, Julia, C++, or similar.
- Comfortable working in a version-controlled software repository alongside software engineers.
- Assist in recruiting, interviewing, and hiring additional teammates to our rapidly-growing team.
- Willingness to travel (~15%).
- Enjoy a fast-paced environment with just the right amount of chaos.
- 1-5+ years of experience.

- Satellite communications industry experience.
- Link budgeting / Link analysis experience.
- Network operations knowledge or direct experience.
- GEO or LEO High Throughput Satellite (HTS) network experience.
- Experience working Military Satellite communications systems.
Astranis offers a compensation package that includes equity and robust benefits.
Base pay is a component of our total rewards package, which may also include equity in the form of incentive stock options, high-quality company-subsidized healthcare, disability, and life insurance benefits, flexible PTO, 401(K) retirement, and free on-site catered meals.
Astranis pay ranges are informed through professional-grade salary surveys and compensation data sources. The actual base salary offered will be influenced by factors including experience, credentials & certifications, educational attainment, skill level requirements, and the level and scope of the position.
The estimated salary range for this position is $115,000 - $145,000 USD.
