**About the job**
Based at the Mandarin Oriental Punta Negra, Mallorca within the Marketing & Commerce department in Mallorca, the Sales Manager is responsible for executing the hotel's sales strategies in alignment with its long-term goals, driving revenue growth, and increasing market presence. This role involves managing day-to-day sales activities, developing and nurturing relationships with key clients, and identifying new business opportunities. The Sales Manager works closely with the sales team to implement targeted campaigns, track performance, and ensure the achievement of sales targets. Additionally, they collaborate with internal teams to ensure the delivery of high-quality service and customer satisfaction, contributing to the hotel's overall growth and success.
**As Sales Manager, you will be responsible for the following duties**:
- Evaluate, respond and negotiate all transient bookings within specified time limits (maximum of 24hrs response time) and to company best practices, in order to make sure all client needs are met, and the hotel is presented in the best possible terms to materialize business.
- To establish and maintain effective working relations both within the department and with other departments.
- To attend selected functions and events indicated by Director of Marketing & Commerce.
- Organize and conduct sales appointments / sales calls.
- Organize and conduct training sessions and presentations for clients.
- To be informed of any market information including changing market conditions and trends in competition. To review, analyse, adapt, and implement these findings with the Director of Marketing & Commerce, potentially taking action to implement counteractions / programs together with the Sales team stay relevant in a very competitive market.
- To maintain and develop relationships with all key industry decision-makers such as; /Travel Advisors, Travel agencies, etc.
- To organize, coordinate and conduct familiarization trips and hotel site inspections for the transient segment.
- To maximize sales activities to ensure occupancy, rate and yield objectives are achieved in accordance with transient sales plan and goals.
- To achieve budgeted room nights and average rate targets in keeping with the annual budget and sales plan for the European market.
- Conduct market research to identify trends and opportunities in European markets.
- Develop and implement sales strategies tailored to the European clientele.
- Set sales targets and create action plans with Top Producers to achieve our goals.
- To maximize transient sales for other hotel revenue generating departments (Food and Beverage, SPA, transportation, etc.).
- Act as a liaison between European guests and the hotel’s various hotel departments.
- Handle and resolve any guest complaints or issues specific to European clients.
- Work with tourism boards and other stakeholders to boost the hotel's profile.
- To effectively manage a portfolio of key accounts through planned sales activities, maximizing account potential in terms of rate and/or room-nights in accordance with overall and specific transient Sales strategies.
- Work closely with the hotel's reservations, front office, and operations teams to ensure smooth service delivery.
- Provide training to staff on cultural nuances and service expectations of European guests.
- To maintain a high level of prospecting, focusing on the development of new business.
- To have full knowledge of overall hotel product and hotel’s primary competition.
