Project Controls Manager

The Opportunity

Project: Bicentennial school programme, government to government programme consisting on the construction and reconstruction of 75 schools nationwide.

This is an opportunity to work on a government-to-government programme that is providing PMO, programme and assurance to the Peruvian Government across over 75 construction projects nationwide. A major aspect of our scope is to provide the knowledge transfer and upskilling for the Peruvian ministries, leaving behind a best practice legacy long after our commission ends.

Your Responsibilities Will Include:

- Directing and managing the consultancy project controls team, including cost, change, schedule, and risk management, ensuring efficient and effective execution of project control activities.
- Supporting the client's project controls teams in the execution of their project control activities, including cost, change, schedule, and risk management.
- Collaborating closely with the client's project teams to provide guidance and expertise to ensure their successful implementation.
- Keeping updated and assisting in the implementation of project controls plans and procedures, aligning them with the program and project management requirements.
- Monitoring and reviewing the project controls activities performed by the client's teams, ensuring accuracy, completeness, and adherence to project milestones.
- Providing guidance and training to the client's project teams on project control processes, standards, and best practices, promoting their understanding and adoption.
- Evaluating project performance data provided by the client's teams, identify trends, and prepare regular reports for the client and Mace senior management, highlighting areas of concern and recommending corrective actions.
- Supporting the client's project teams in conducting risk assessments, identifying potential risks and opportunities, and developing risk mitigation strategies to minimize the impact on project deliverables.
- Collaborating with the client's teams in change management processes, including the review, evaluation, and approval of change requests, ensuring proper documentation, impact analysis and communication.
- Ensuring compliance with project control processes, standards, and best practices, and provide recommendations for improvements to enhance efficiency and effectiveness.
- Staying updated with industry trends and advancements in project controls methodologies and tools and provide recommendations to the client on their implementation.

About You

You will have experience in programme controls and/or programme/project management and topics like governance and reporting, forecasting and trends, change control management, stakeholder engagement, programme governance and strategy, planning and scheduling, risk and issue management, cost management, project reporting, earned value (EV) analysis and evaluation. You have management experience required with desire to up in the organization. You are able to meet deadlines without exceptions. It is a plus if you have technical writing experience and commercial acumen. You have people management skills. You have a BS degree in a technical or business discipline or equivalent experience.

You are self-motivated, team oriented, proactive and not afraid of challenge. You have good interpersonal skills, high degree of integrity, good communication skills, time management skills. You care about quality of products. You are flexible to changing requirements. You are able to listen and be empathic to other’s challenges and perceived problems. You speak Spanish. It is desired that you are member of a professional body and have experience of international projects.
