The Country Manager is accountable for delivering results for his/her country. As a leader of leaders, the Country Manager holds all Sales, Marketing, Technical, Commercial Operations, Regulatory and other areas Managers and Colleagues responsible for setting and achieving business strategy, objectives, policies, practices, expectations, and performance goals.
The Country Manager clarifies, sets objectives and leads the execution of business plan that are in alignment with the overall Zoetis strategy and goals.
The Country Manager actively coaches and develops other managers to enable their teams to (1) identify and capitalize on opportunities, (2) target all customers and provide them a best quality support and information to increase penetration and demand for Zoetis products and services, and (3) maximize resources in a coordinated and collaborative manner, like taking a proactive role to ensure alignment with Research and Development, Distribution Management, HR, Finance, Legal, Information Technology, Learning & Development and additional supporting areas when planning and executing programs and country activities (e.g., new product launches, training, and colleague development). (4) develop talent in his/her country, and hold their managers accountable for effective people management and talent development. As a senior leader, the Country Manager models and communicates the importance of conducting business in a manner consistent with Zoetis Values and core competencies, taking full responsibility for it.
**POSITION RESPONSIBILITIES**
**Creates and executes short and long term strategies for the market to meet customer needs and exceed market goals.**
- Provides strategic input into the development and alignment of an overall business plan for all species units.
- Develops strategic plans yearly and quarterly POA - Plan of Action priorities.
- Sets and achieves challenging goals for the market
- Interprets and operationalizes Zoetis business strategies for field sales organization and develops a clear plan of action.
- Provides input into the development of marketing programs / initiatives.
- Analyzes information to uncover underlying patterns across the business units.
- Coaches others to operationalize strategic plans into tactical approaches that produce results.
- Leads the implementation and ensures the sustainability of Business Model Optimization efforts.
**Provides coaching to direct reports to improve their leadership and ability to drive results.**
- Reinforces importance of using and mastering the Zoetis selling approach and effective call execution whether engaged in demand generation or direct sales with distributors.
- Provides coaching and direction to managers and colleagues on identifying opportunities (e.g., using tools, asking key questions to evaluate business, and positioning Zoetis products and services).
**Manages resources to achieve performance goals.**
- Ensures development and use of tools to assess current and future customer growth opportunities and their implication on sales.
- Ensures business reviews are conducted; uses opportunity to aggregate performance, identify trends, and make adjustments based on analysis of progress toward goal achievement.
- Develops mechanisms and Key Performance Indicators (KPIs) that provide early warning signals against the ability to meet goals (review of sales targets, penetration rates, growth achievement, utilization of resources, market share, etc.).
- Manages budget consistent with business goals and in compliance with Travel and Expense (T&E) policies.
- Ensures field management focuses on high pay-off activities critical to the success of the.market
- Leads/drives major strategic initiatives that impact the market and ensures change management rationale is communicated and understood.
- Champions effective strategic customers’ management/planning and coordinated efforts amongst field colleagues and ensures optimization of time in the field to develop relationships with that strategic customers
- Ensures Global Vet Policies, FCPA, corporative and local policies are appropriately followed by individuals and the team.
- Follow up on S&OP key performing indicators (e.g. forecast accuracy, inventory levels, etc).
- Follow up on Financial key performing indicators (e.g. profit marins, operational expenses, DSO, etc).
**Aligns the efforts of the Marketing, Sales, and Vet Ops functions and coordinates across Zoetis as a whole.**
- Influences and works effectively across units and/or with functions (e.g., BT, Sales Operations, HR, L&D, Legal, Regulatory, Technical and Marketing Departments, BD&SA, VMRD and HQ) to align across Zoetis.
- Sets expectations and reinforces importance of teamwork.
- Creates processes and structures for lessons learned and best practices to be captured and shared.
**Coaches others to **identify customer needs to build and strengthen external customer relationships.**
