Now we're seeking a Backend/Machine learning engineer for join our international team. If you're a professional passionate about innovation and with skills to develop and enhance technological solutions, this opportunity is for you.

Tasks
- Creating and productizing services to make available machine learning technologies from our Research team.
- Helping build the future of machine learning tools and services to support the purpose of FamilySearch.
- Utilizing data science in machine learning to improve overall extraction of information from historical records.

**Requirements**:

- Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, or a related field (or equivalent experience).
- English proficiency, minimun B2.
- Solid Java and Python programming skills
- Combination of 7 years of software development and machine learning experience.
- Hands on experience in using software development, data science and machine learning to extract structured information from historical document images. Must have utilized all three - machine learning, data science, and software development.
- Use of essential Linux data manipulation tools like sed, grep, sort, regexes, etc.
- Experience doing analysis on the results of the model processing with Splunk.
- Experience capturing data in the form of Jason files.
