Glt Technology Leader

**About the role**

**Purpose**

The primary purpose of the Technology Leader - South America is to provide technical support and expertise to the customer facing team for the commercialisation of Glycine Leaching Technology (GLT) namely the _GlyCatTM_, _GlyLeachTM_, _GlyAmmTM_ and _GTTM_ processes, in the South America region. This position will be based in either Peru or Chile.

This will involve providing technical support and expertise to the business development efforts for prospective uptake of the GLT technologies, assuming the role of principle contact between the customer facing team and the operations team. The position is accountable for all client documentation for the region.

**Role Accountabilities**

The Technology Leader - South America reports directly to the GLT Technology Manager but works within their designated region in the Mining and Process Solutions business and is accountable for both identifying opportunities and delivering technology projects in their region. This will be done by providing any necessary technical support to its development and roll out.

- Mining executives and mining customers
- Other Technology Leaders

**Key Responsibilities**
- **Leadership and team support**:Performance will be based on an individual’s leadership and professional relationships with other team members and externally with vendors/customers. Performance will be assessed on the quality of internal Innovation team relationships, mining solutions business relationships and clients.
- **Business Target Achievement**:Responsible for technically supporting the achievement of regional business objectives.
- **Technology Opportunities Identification**:Supports sales by evaluating the quantum of opportunity and the sales fit. Responsible to extract relevant technical information from Customers that enables Operations to develop appropriate solutions.
- **Engagement Cycle Stewardship**:Works closely with cross-functional teams to provide technical input to shepherd clients’ expectations, ensuring continuous engagement through the license and beyond.
- **Technology Project Implementation Input**:Provides expert-level technical guidance and support to clients and internal teams to drive business outcomes.
- **Customer Value Realisation**: Influences technical personnel in customer business, driving profitability and value.
- **Stakeholder Relationship Management**:Identifies, builds and nurtures relationships with existing and potential clients. Builds and maintains collaborative relationships with internal teams and relevant stakeholders.
- **Financial Management**:Monitors expenses, ensuring expenditure is within approved budgets and Delegation of Authority.
- **Reporting and Approvals**:Creates the draft proposals for internal stakeholder approval. Approves the leaching conditions needed to undertake the testwork and is the final approver for all testwork plans. Presents technical presentations to the customer. Provides final approval for all technical documentation for allocated customers.

**Skills and experience**
- Bachelor and Masters Level qualification in Chemical Engineering, Minerals Engineering, or Metallurgical Engineering.
- Professional Proficiency in MS Office
- Ability to travel internationally for business. This is expected to be up to 25% of workable days per year.
- Must have the appropriate working rights in Australia with the ability to travel overseas for business assignments.
- Ability to work autonomously and must have excellent problem-solving skills and attention to detail.
- Hands-On Mineral Processing Plant and Laboratory Experience
- Good understanding of project development and process development progression.
- Good understanding of the operational aspects of gold leaching.
- At least 10 years of relevant post-graduate full time work experience, with a minimum of 5 years in an operational role on a gold mine site and preferably 3+ years in a commercial technical support role in an Original Equipment Manufacturer (OEM). Must have experience of providing technical support in the sale of high value leaching technologies.

Must be permanent resident or citizen and have the ability to travel overseas on a monthly basis.

Ability to work autonomously and must have excellent problem-solving skills and attention to detail.
