**Position Overview**
The QA Team Leader Engineer is accountable for ensuring that software released from development is of a high quality and is fit for purpose. This means that the software must meet the business requirements defined both in terms of functional and non-functional requirements, as well as being fully tested for software faults.
**Responsibilities**
- Review and validate business requirements coming into development to ensure that the requirements are unambiguous and “testable”.
- Work closely with the development team, supporting them through the provision of integrated testing and QA.
- Test work as it is being developed by the team, and also validate new versions of the software from both an end user perspective, and from a performance perspective for deployment within our hosted environments.
- Test and ensure the quality and resilience of all software delivered by the development team using structured processes and methodologies.
- Ensure accurate and detailed recording and logging of all bugs and issues found during functional and non-functional testing via use of established toolsets.
- To enter time in the current timesheet recording system, keeping timesheets as up to date as the business requires.
- Produce and maintain test plans and test scripts to ensure the continued quality of released software from several development teams.
- Work closely with the VP Delivery, to assist in the definition and refinement of the QA systems and procedures.
**Qualifications and Experiences**
- Formal testing methods.
- Creating test specifications.
- Principles of load testing.
- Results analysis and report writing.
- Experience developing scripts for test automation.
- Software engineering skills in C, Java and Delphi are preferred.
- Understanding of software testing methodologies (white and black box).
- Strong configuration testing skills.
- Strong (English) interpersonal, written, communication and organizational skills are required to interact with customers and peers.
- Demonstrated ability to work in a team-oriented environment.
- Experience creating test strategies/plans from functional specifications.
- Experience testing customer facing/UI features.
- Experience in System-level testing preferred.
- Experience of multiple platforms preferred.
- Flexibility and willingness to travel.
- Sound time management and prioritization.
- Ability to work as part of a team and able to accommodate different personalities and skills within that team.
- A knowledge of business-to-business E-Commerce, both over the web and traditional EDI.
- Experience of relevant vertical markets, e.g., Retail.
- Knowledge of EDI.
- Supply Chain experience.
- Educated to degree level.
- Minimum 4 years of software QA experience with at least 1 year as a senior
