In this role, you will collaborate with various projects at the Cuso Peru office as well as with Cuso International to produce high-quality, engaging, and impactful communications materials (including specific print and digital formats) that effectively showcase the achievements and results of the initiatives led by our local partner organizations and volunteers.

You will work closely with the Country Representative, Program Managers, and the rest of the Country Team in this position.

As a volunteer, your responsibilities will include:

• Assist in the development and creation of engaging, high-quality print and digital communication materials (including written content, videos, websites, etc.) for projects in Peru.
• Develop training materials such as presentations, instructional guides, and multimedia content to facilitate effective learning.
• Enhance capacity by providing training to staff, volunteers, and partners on the effective use of social media to promote awareness of our mission and organization.
• Write, produce, and distribute stories (in both written and video formats) that highlight the impact of international volunteering and showcase the efforts of our partner organizations within their communities to share with potential donors and the media.
• Capture photographs and videos, write articles, and share them on social networks and other media platforms as needed.
• Work collaboratively with other volunteers and staff during workshops and field visits.

Essential Requirements:

• A Bachelor's degree in journalism, communications, digital marketing, political science, graphic design, or a related discipline.
• Proficient in audiovisual tools such as Adobe Illustrator, Adobe Photoshop, Adobe Premiere, and CorelDRAW.
• Experience in video editing.

Essential Background:

• At least 3 years of experience as a communications consultant, graphic designer, or in related fields.
• Must be skilled in graphic design software, video editing, and photography.
• Demonstrated experience in conducting research and interviews.
• Possesses excellent interpersonal and intercultural communication skills, with the ability to convey information clearly to a variety of audiences and stakeholders.
• Shown ability to prioritize tasks effectively to meet deadlines. A creative thinker with sound judgment, capable of working both independently and collaboratively within a team.

Support Package

Selection and Screening

If you are shortlisted, you will need to: 

• Confirm passport or permanent resident details for travel 
• Provide two professional references and one personal reference 
• Complete a language assessment during the initial phone interview 
• Pass a police check and medical clearance before departure 
• Comply with anti-terrorism checks 
• Agree to uphold the Protection from Sexual Exploitation and Abuse (PSEA) policy and Code of Conduct
