About the Team

We're looking for a creative, talented Software Engineering Manager to join our Finance and Administration Engineering Team. We are an agile development team that fully embraces the DevOps culture. You will lead the effort of building highly scalable solutions and applications to support Tranzact's line of business over the years to come.

How the Position Works

As the Manager of Software Engineering team(s) in a domain, you will report to the Chief Technology Officer (CTO) and manage team(s) of Software Engineers who develop and maintain solutions that support TRANZACT's post sale operations. The Engineering Manager is a highly motivated individual with solid technical knowledge and experience in Software development. You will be key in leading the team and the domain core solutions to the next level using your knowledge of software engineering best practices and your tenacious approach to learn the business and improve the team's processes and deliverables. Good communication is a must as you will need to work with the rest of the domain leaders and operations teams to integrate and roll out your platform's deliverables.

The specific responsibilities include:

  • Leading the agile teams to design and implement features to realize the platform's vision and roadmap.
  • Managing, mentoring and providing technical leadership on the day-to-day tasks and priorities of the platform team.
  • Apply your experience and knowledge of software engineering best practices to ensure our applications are secure, robust, scalable and maintainable.
  • Continually improve our platforms, identifying opportunities, prioritizing payment of technical debt and refactoring the codebase to grow and evolve with current technology, and end-user needs.
  • Evolve the team's processes and practices to improve non-technical responsibilities like end-user support, documentation, maintaining architectural decisions, etc.
  • Promote a culture of technical innovation, enabling teams to solve complex challenges with creative and efficient solutions.
  • Collaborate with domain owners to ensure their business objectives are met through technical strategies and solutions.
  • Serve as a mentor and thought partner to engineering leaders, fostering a culture of innovation and technical excellence within the organization.

What you need to be successful

  • Extensive experience in software development, architecture, and delivery management, with a focus on modern practices like Agile, DevOps, and CI/CD.
  • At least 4 years of experience leading Agile teams.
  • Good understanding of Domain Driven Development, TDD, Clean Code, Design Patterns and SOLID principles.
  • Good understanding of building .NET applications, C# as a primary programming language.
  • Commitment to communication and transparency; regularly contributing to team ideation.
  • An outgoing, positive and assertive personality. A self-starter who works well with peers and others but is not afraid to speak up. A naturally curious and tenacious problem solver.
  • Excellent communication skills, with the ability to explain complex technical concepts to diverse audiences in English.
  • Ability to effectively articulate technical challenges and solutions.
  • Help the team to build resilient technical infrastructures and processes to support high-quality delivery at scale.
  • Strong ability to build trust with the Domain Owner and align technical solutions with business objectives.
