Latino Legends is hiring on behalf of one of our U.S.-based clients—a fast-growing, mission-driven fintech organization that is transforming the digital lending space. This company is well-funded, operates fully remote, and has already helped borrowers refinance over $6B in loans. They are now expanding their engineering team across LATAM to continue scaling their platform and impact.

Position Details

Role: Senior Kotlin Developer
Type: Full-time, Remote (LATAM only)
Seniority: 6+ years of software development; 2+ years working professionally with Kotlin
English: Advanced / Fluent (fully English-speaking environment)
Salary Range: USD $5,000–$7,000/month
Timezone: CST (Central Standard Time)

About the Role

Our client is a remote-first fintech company focused on helping consumers reduce debt through a highly scalable digital lending platform. They value ownership, honesty, curiosity, and low-ego collaboration. They are hiring immediately and have flexibility for phased onboarding.

As a Senior Kotlin Developer, you'll take full ownership of features from concept to production, working closely with engineering, product, and design. If you're passionate about building scalable systems and enjoy working in high-impact environments, this role offers the opportunity to meaningfully contribute to a best-in-class fintech product.

What You'll Do

  • Own project outcomes end-to-end—from architecture to deployment

  • Build and scale APIs that power core product functionality

  • Improve system architecture, performance, and reliability

  • Write clean, well-tested code within robust CI/CD pipelines

  • Collaborate cross-functionally with product managers, designers, and fellow engineers

  • Mentor engineers and help elevate technical standards

  • Participate in on-call rotations and contribute to system stability

  • Engage actively in a transparent, remote-first team culture

What We're Looking For

  • 6+ years of professional software engineering experience

  • 2+ years building production systems with Kotlin

  • Strong expertise in JVM-based languages and functional programming

  • Experience with large-scale distributed systems

  • Background in service-oriented and event-driven architectures

  • Hands-on experience with AWS, Kubernetes, and CI/CD tooling

  • Proficiency with relational databases (PostgreSQL preferred)

  • Strong communication skills and fluency in English

  • A mindset focused on accountability, craftsmanship, and continuous improvement

  • Ability to thrive in fast-paced, startup-like environments
