About the role:
We are seeking a
Settlement
Coordinator
to join our client's personal injury team. This role is crucial in managing post-settlement processes, including lien resolution, disbursements, and client communication. The ideal candidate will have experience coordinating settlements within a U.S. personal injury law firm, excellent organizational and negotiation skills, and strong attention to financial detail.
U.S.-based Law Firm Experience Is Strongly Preferred.
Experience in personal injury is a plus.
What you'll be doing:
- Manage all aspects of settlement coordination for personal injury cases.
- Communicate with medical providers, insurance companies, and lienholders to verify and negotiate outstanding balances.
- Prepare settlement statements, disbursement sheets, and related financial documentation for attorney review.
- Track and follow up on medical bills, liens, and reimbursements to ensure timely resolution.
- Maintain accurate and organized case records within the firm's case management system.
- Collaborate with attorneys, paralegals, and accounting staff to finalize settlements efficiently.
- Provide clear, empathetic communication to clients regarding settlement progress and fund disbursement.
- Ensure compliance with legal and ethical standards in all financial transactions.
Who are we looking for?
- 2+ years of experience in lien resolution, settlement coordination, or legal administration (preferably in personal injury).
- Strong understanding of medical billing, insurance processes, and lien negotiation.
- Excellent communication and negotiation skills.
- High attention to detail and accuracy in financial recordkeeping.
- Proficiency in case management and legal billing software.
- Reliable, organized, and able to manage multiple cases simultaneously.
- Experience working with U.S. law firms or personal injury practices is preferred.
- English fluency (spoken and written); Spanish fluency is a plus.
