Company Description

Las Qolqas Eco Lodge & Spa provides an immersive and sustainable tourism experience in the heart of the Sacred Valley, just outside Ollantaytambo, between Cusco and Machu Picchu. The lodge features luxury safari-style tents accommodating up to 58 guests, combining elegant design with comfort and private spaces. The signature dining experience, Pututu restaurant, is set in a greenhouse and specializes in seasonal, organic, and locally sourced cuisine. Guests can enjoy a unique spa experience by the Patacancha River, offering healing treatments and an outdoor hydrotherapy circuit. The lodge also curates exclusive experiences, including guided hikes to lesser-known Inca trails and archaeological sites.

Role Description

This is a full-time on-site role for an Executive Chef located in Cusco. The Executive Chef will oversee menu development, preparation, and presentation for all dining services, ensuring the highest quality standards in all dishes. Key responsibilities include managing kitchen staff, maintaining food safety and hygiene compliance, sourcing locally grown and seasonal ingredients, and collaborating on innovative culinary offerings that reflect the region's traditions and sustainable ethos.

Qualifications

  • Expertise in culinary techniques, menu development, and food presentation
  • Experience in managing kitchen operations, including inventory and food cost management
  • Knowledge of food safety, hygiene regulations, and sustainable cooking practices
  • Strong leadership, team management, and staff training skills
  • Creativity in developing unique dishes that incorporate locally sourced and seasonal ingredients
  • Excellent communication and organizational skills
  • Fluency in Spanish and/or English is preferred
  • Formal culinary training and prior experience in the hospitality or eco-tourism sector are strongly valued
