Introduction

We are seeking a Senior Engineer, Sourcing, to join our Sourcing local team. You will have business responsibility to protect and support growth through tier-1 sourcing work in close collaboration with business.

What you'll do

  • Sourcing strategy for BL/Sourcing: prepare and execute sourcing strategies for all relevant material and service categories.
  • Supplier base: define and own preferred supplier base in each BL, and local supplier base in countries.
  • Negotiations: negotiate frame agreements, including price lists, and manage contracts; maintain documentation and contract database.
  • Supplier relationship management: act as SRM for strategic suppliers or join team managing a supplier; own commercial relationships as vendor owner.
  • Supplier performance management: set performance targets, monitor and evaluate long-term supplier performance against agreed criteria, and agree actions on systematic deviations and drive continuous improvement; manage/monitor vendor QNs.
  • Demand forecast: share the high-level demand projections with key suppliers; act on long-term bottlenecks.
  • Supplier development: drive identification and development of new suppliers, particularly in Best Cost Country (BCC).
  • Product development: participate in cross-functional teams working on product concepts; ensure supplier capabilities, resourcing, and procurement commercial aspects are considered and secured.
  • Supplier compliance: ensure sign-off and Supplier Code of Conduct compliance; qualify new suppliers and drive supplier sustainability engagement program.
  • Data Maintenance: maintain procurement-related data such as Vendor master, agreements, etc.

Who you are

  • University studies in Administration or Engineering.
  • Experience: Minimum 7 years of work experience, performing similar functions (desirable).
  • Strategic sourcing savings KPI and development.
  • Supplier on-time arrival KPI and development.
  • Supplier payment term KPI and development.
  • Supplier lead times KPI and development.
  • Best cost country supplier development.
  • RFQ, bid comparison, letter of award, agreements.
  • Proven experience in negotiation with suppliers.
  • Experience handling quotations with high detail engineering such as chute fabrication, chute liners, metal fabrications.
  • Desirable knowledge of suppliers in Chile.
  • Desirable knowledge of quality assurance topics.
  • Desirable knowledge of materials, standards, drawing interpretation, welding processes, and casting processes.
  • Intermediate level in Office applications.
  • Advanced knowledge of SAP Purchasing Modules.
  • Advanced English proficiency.
