The Opportunity LINX Port Services is seeking a capable, confident and commercially savvy Senior Operations Manager to be responsible for leading their Port Stevedoring and Logistics Operations. As a Senior Operations Manager, you will play a crucial role within the port supply chain including leading a team that will support you delivering the stevedoring, customer and third-party service providers requirements. Your primary leadership competencies will see you enable a skilled blue‑collar workforce that is underpinned by a union industrial instrument that provides terms and conditions that gives rise to LINX Port Services, in the market, being the Employer of Choice. Assuming the responsibility for a safe, efficient and productive port operation/s you will lead from the front with strong communication, agility and flexibility. Troubleshooting to ensure operational and customer deliverables are met, you will understand the contract and business needs to make integrity‑based decisions. Stevedoring, transporting, loading and unloading of goods and cargo via sea and leading teams in an environment that may be required to perform work, with the support of an operational management team, 7 days and/or 24 hours. You will be available on an as‑needs basis for pre‑planned irregular shifts when required by our LINX customers. Reporting to the General Manager – Operations, this critical role requires a strong leadership presence, understanding of complex industrial agreements, customer centricity and planning and leading diverse teams. These core competencies and your unrelinquished safety focus will ensure success as a key member of the LINX Port Services operations team. About the Position The Senior Operations Manager – Brisbane Port will be accountable for, but not limited to, the key deliverables: Lead the port operational deliverables from the front, driving outcomes through team members and your direct reports, handling cargoes including containers, steel, roll‑on roll‑off and port project cargoes eg. wind turbines. Be present and demonstrate leadership and commercial acumen whilst supporting a team of four direct reports Collaborate with cross‑functional teams, including HR, Finance and IT. About You Demonstrated experience as a capable, confident and present leader in a complex operational environment. Worked successfully within a highly safety sensitive and high‑risk environment. Can evidence a considered, collaborative and forward‑thinking mindset Experience leading in a unionised (blue‑collar) workplace/s and stevedoring/maritime would be advantageous Focussed customer centricity and agility when making decisions Strong commercial and financial acumen Demonstrated experience working in a team with the ability to build strong relationships with internal and external stakeholders.
