The Role

The role sits in a key function for the Antapaccay CPF full scale Project and is accountable for all construction coordination and support across the different project stages, PFS, FS and Execution, giving construction support to engineering at early project stages, ensure compliance constructing strategy and constructability during the execution stage and finally facilitate the right transference sequence of construction packages from construction to pre-commissioning team to ensure project schedule completion as a whole one.


The Responsibilities

  • Responsible to ensure all interaction between owners' team with the EPC / EPCM and Construction contractors, the professional must ensure fully compliant under the Capital Management Framework (CMF) for construction management techniques, and constructability inputs into Concept, Prefeasibility, Feasibility studies and execution for brown field Projects.
  • Strong commitment to implement the ES&H Plan and leading by example through visible leadership at the job site.
  • Review periodically the construction philosophy with the construction site organization and ensure that everyone understand the constructability plan showing how to execute the project.
  • Implement the constructability effort done in the previous project stages.
  • Participate or the Independent Peer Reviews (IPRs) as required for construction side.
  • Coordinate all construction activities during the PFS/FS and Execution Project stages at home office or jobsite.
  • Provide construction technical oversight to along the Project Life and provide coaching and guidance to Project teams on constructability and construction plan according to the approved PEP.
  • Ensuring compliance with the zeroinjury philosophy, security, housekeeping, and fire protection on the construction site.
  • Ensure the correct project scrubbing and construction methodology is being applied at all times across the Copper portfolio (including inputs into value engineering and other techniques to optimise projects NPV and total cost of ownership as appropriate).
  • Establishes and implements construction schedules, methods, manning charts, and material and equipment requirements.
  • Plan and recommend civil procedures to be implemented by Field Supervision to ensure construction operations are within requirements of engineering design and specifications.
  • Plans and establishes procedures to ensure construction operations meet engineering designs and specifications.
  • Bring about innovation and improvement of project construction techniques, practices and build strategies to mitigate risk to projects and improve capital effectiveness.
  • Foster a learning and continuous improvement culture to improve all aspects of the project performance, sustainability and business growth, leading the identification and implementation of constructability optimisation initiatives, including portfolio opportunities for increased capital efficiency and productivity in the Technical Services group.

The Requirements

  • Project Construction and Project Engineer experience focus on construction roles and being part of an Owners organization as well as EPC/EPCM consultant entity.
  • Desirable experience at construction and engineering at both greenfield and brownfield projects.
  • Desirable risk management and quantification expertise.
  • Excellent interpersonal and communication skills across all levels of the organization.
  • Proven experience developing, leading, and motivating multicultural teams within large mining projects is desirable.
  • Ability to remain objective and independent in a collaborative manner to solve technical construction problems considering engineering, procurement and total cost of ownership concepts.
  • Strong leadership and relationship building skills both including internal and external stakeholders.
  • Semiautonomous, selfmotivated, highly proactive and resilient attitude.
  • Technical problemsolving, facilitation, analytical, leadership/ management and negotiation capabilities with contractors/subcontractors.
  • Advanced written and oral skills in both, Spanish and English
