The International Finance Corporation (IFC) – a member of the World Bank Group – is the largest global development institution focused on the private sector in emerging markets. It works in more than 100 developing countries, using capital, mobilization capacity, expertise, and influence to create jobs and raise living standards for people.

The Multi-Country Investment Climate Program (MCICP), implemented by IFCm supports investment climate reform advisory in SECO Partner Countries and focuses on decarbonizing the cement industry and promoting sustainable agriculture and water management. Responsibilities include data collection, analysis, and stakeholder coordination to ensure alignment with IFC's sustainability objectives. The decarbonization project in Peru works on regulatory reforms and raising awareness among public and private sector stakeholders. The project on mobilizing investments in sustainable agriculture aims to reduce regulatory barriers and offer tailored advisory services to promote agricultural exports.

As Analyst in the Country Advisory and Economics Team you support IFC as follows:

Contribute to baseline data development for climate-related projects on decarbonization and sustainable agriculture;

Assist in data collection and analysis to track project progress and identify risks;

Participate in stakeholder meetings, prepare materials, and document key decisions;

Support drafting periodic reports and presentations for internal and external audiences;

Assist in knowledge-sharing initiatives, including case studies, project briefs, and best practice documents;

-
Etc.

Part of the Talent programme "Swiss Youth at the United Nations / World Bank Group", this position is sponsored by the State Secretariat for Economic Affairs (SECO). An International UN Youth Volunteer contract ensures that travel, relocation and UN health insurance costs are covered. Additionally, a monthly living allowance is paid. - Swiss nationality;
- Master's degree;
- Ideally 12 months of relevant professional experience (min. 3 months - max. 24 months);
- Max. 28 years old at the date of application;
- Excellent command of English and 2 official Swiss languages (one active = C1/C2, one passive = A2/B1);
- Proven interest in joining the international cooperation sector.
- Driving license for PHRD financed positions.
For this position:

- Master's degree in economics, environmental/agricultural policy, development studies, or a related field;
- Demonstrated interest and/or experience (ideally one year) in sustainability, climate change mitigation, or development projects;
- Strong analytical skills with proficiency in Excel, data visualization, and report writing;
- Strong communication and interpersonal skills, including the ability to work collaboratively as part of a small team and engage professionally with clients and other stakeholders;
- Fluent in English and working knowledge in Spanish.

First round of interviews carried out by cinfo: between 13 May and 22 May 2025

Final selection: made by the host organisation based on cinfo's recommendation and a second interview with them. Selected candidates will be informed towards the end of June 2025.

Onboarding and training: The onboarding process will start after the selection. Selected candidates will have to attend mandatory predeparture training in August.

Entry on duty: Departure is possible after the mandatory training. The final departure date will be discussed after the selection and depends on several factors.
