The Vice President of Finance is a strategic leader responsible for overseeing global financial operations, including accounting, financial reporting, and treasury. Reporting to the Chief Financial Officer, the VP Finance plays a pivotal role in driving financial strategy, operational excellence, and process optimization. This position requires a dynamic leader who can provide actionable financial insights, ensure compliance with accounting standards, and cultivate a high-performing finance team to support the company's long-term growth and strategic objectives.
Key Responsibilities
Strategic Leadership & Business Partnership
- Partner with executive leadership to guide financial decision-making and business strategy.
- Analyze key financial and operational metrics, identifying trends and drivers to inform decision-making.
- Provide financial insights and analyses to support strategic initiatives and growth objectives.
- Lead the development of the annual operating plan, aligning financial goals with broader business strategy.
- Support M&A activities, including financial due diligence, integration, and post-acquisition performance measurement.
Financial Operations & Compliance
- Oversee all accounting functions, including general accounting, payroll, treasury, and technical accounting.
- Manage the monthly, quarterly, and annual financial close processes, ensuring accuracy and timeliness.
- Ensure the timely preparation and publication of financial statements in compliance with regulatory requirements.
- Oversee debt compliance calculations, reporting, and interactions with financial stakeholders.
- Lead the company's external audit process, serving as the primary liaison with independent auditors.
Process Optimization & Continuous Improvement
- Implement and refine global accounting policies and procedures to drive consistency and compliance.
- Develop and maintain strong internal controls to safeguard company assets and mitigate financial risks.
- Lead financial process optimization efforts to enhance scalability and operational efficiency.
- Drive ERP system implementation and improvement initiatives to strengthen financial reporting and operational capabilities.
Team Leadership & Development
- Build, mentor, and lead a high-performing finance and accounting team.
- Foster a culture of excellence, continuous learning, and professional development.
- Provide clear direction, set performance expectations, and ensure accountability across finance functions.
Qualifications
Education & Certifications
- Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related field.
- CPA certification required.
Experience
- 15+ years of progressive accounting and finance experience in a multinational environment.
- 8+ years in a leadership role.
Skills & Competencies
- Strong knowledge of accounting standards, financial regulations, and best practices.
- Expertise in cost accounting, financial modeling, and operational KPIs within a manufacturing setting.
- Proven experience in managing audits, implementing accounting policies, and improving financial processes.
- Demonstrated success in ERP system implementation and process optimization.
- Hands-on experience with M&A activities, including integration and performance tracking.
- Exceptional analytical skills, problem-solving ability, and attention to detail.
- Strong communication and relationship-building skills, with the ability to translate complex financial concepts for diverse stakeholders.
- Ability to inspire and lead high-performing teams in a fast-paced environment.
- Proactive mindset with the ability to challenge assumptions and drive strategic discussions.
Supervisory Responsibilities
- Directly manage teams responsible for accounting, financial reporting, and treasury functions.
- Oversee hiring, performance evaluation, and professional development of finance personnel.
