You will work closely with cross-functional banking squads, software architects, and QA engineers to build scalable, high-performance backend services powered by Java. Detailed Job Description:

As a Java Developer at Avows in Jakarta, you will take full ownership of building, optimizing, and maintaining scalable backend services and transaction processing modules for banking clients. Your day-to-day responsibilities encompass writing clean, maintainable Java code, designing RESTful APIs, and integrating backend applications with secure relational databases. You will participate actively in Agile sprint planning, code reviews, system integration testing, and performance tuning to ensure high availability and low latency across production environments. Working in a collaborative onsite work environment, you will translate complex business requirements into robust technical specifications and troubleshoot intricate system issues.

Key Responsibilities:

• Design, develop, test, and deploy robust enterprise applications and backend services using Java.
• Build and optimize secure RESTful APIs, microservices, and enterprise integration workflows.
• Collaborate with cross-functional software engineering, product management, and QA teams in Agile sprints.
• Conduct rigorous code reviews, unit testing, and integration testing to ensure high software quality and reliability.
• Troubleshoot, diagnose, and resolve production software defects, performance bottlenecks, and concurrency issues.
• Maintain comprehensive technical documentation, API specifications, and system architecture diagrams.
• Optimize database queries and ensure secure transactional data management within banking systems.
• Adhere strictly to enterprise security standards, coding best practices, and project delivery timelines.
• Participate in daily stand-ups, backlog grooming, and release planning ceremonies.

Required Qualifications & Skills:

• Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Software Engineering, Information Technology, or a related technical discipline.
• 2 to 3 years of professional software development experience specializing in enterprise Java and backend engineering.
• Strong practical knowledge of object-oriented programming, design patterns, and relational databases (SQL).
• Proven ability to work effectively within fast-paced, collaborative Agile development teams.
• Strong analytical, problem-solving, and cross-functional communication skills.
• Professional availability for onsite deployment (WFO) in Jakarta, Indonesia.
• Familiarity with PKWT fixed-term employment contract frameworks in Indonesia.

Nice-to-Have Skills:

• Professional certifications such as Oracle Certified Professional: Java SE Developer or AWS Certified Developer.
• Experience with containerization and orchestration tools including Docker and Kubernetes.
• Familiarity with modern CI/CD automation pipelines using GitHub Actions, GitLab CI, or Jenkins.
