The
**Sourcing Technical Engineer (STE) **will be based in
**Lima, Peru or Santiago, Chile **within our Supply Chain Business. The STE is responsible for providing technical capability within the Product Sourcing team to deliver and continuously improve sourcing channels that are compliant, flexible (low risk), consistent (DOTIF), sustainable and low-cost.

The STE uses manufacturing best practices knowledge and metallurgical skills to audit and manage supplier processes to ensure products are delivered to specification. You will be responsible for analysing and reporting on technical compliance of suppliers and their products. You will participate in failure investigations and develop plans to prevent reoccurence. As the STE, you will provide technical guidance to the business regarding product sourcing options.

**Key Technical Criteria**:

- Relevant tertiary education in engineering, ideally in Metallurgy or Materials (required)
- Other relevant technical/quality qualifications i.e. Non-Destructive Testing (preferred)
- 3-5 years’ experience in a steel and/or iron foundry environment working with cast products
- Product sourcing experience, with a focus on international suppliers
- Problem solving and root cause analysis to understand and rectify the nature of casting defects
- Creation of technical documentation including: procurement specifications, reports (failure, NCR, concession), product/supplier audits etc.
- Training/providing guidance to colleagues in technical matters, especially metallurgy
- Knowledge of steel and/or iron foundry or heavy industrial manufacturing processes
- Understanding of metallurgical principles and their impact related to sourcing activities
- Ability to read and interpret engineering documents such as drawings, specifications and CAD models
- Ability to perform quality audits (product & process) on suppliers to assure products and services meet all applicable Bradken and/or local regulatory standards
- Some domestic and international travel required
