**What will you do**

The R&D Senior Manager for Dr Ci:Labo has overall leadership for the R&D activities supporting China as the key growth market for Dr Ci:Labo dermo-cosmetics brand. The role will work directly with the Regional Commercial Leadership team, regional Supply Chain and regional and global R&D teams to:

- Develop and shape a holistic technical strategy based on the current and future business needs for China
- Help identify relevant strategic innovations and opportunities to shape new product innovation pipelines and processes for key markets in China
- Provide technical leadership to coordinate all technical aspects of innovation and life cycle management projects from initiation, briefing, progress and completion
- Work with global partners in US for future pipeline technologies and seek opportunities to scale across other Kenvue Skin Health brand (e.g. Neostrata)

In partnership with the Translational Science team, you will be responsible for ensuring clinical & claims strategy and execution to help support launches across China Domestic and Clinic channels. Together with our Medical Affairs team, you will help curate strong stories that bring our science to life, as well as driving thought leadership with consumers, customers and health care professionals in China on the science behind our Dr Ci: Labo brand.

You will have an outside-in mindset that understands the research landscape and leverages internal and external networks to access new scientific technologies, that enable a fast and agile go to market model. Anticipating competitor activities, regulatory developments & sustainability trends you will ensure that pipeline and portfolio is robust and competitive in terms of performance, claims and cost, which meets the requirement of the business and consumers’ needs.
- Key Responsibilities***
- Responsible for product design & development of the innovation pipeline for Dr Ci:Labo in China
- Partner closely with China commercial partners to build clearly aligned execution plans, ensuring strong return on R&D Investment.
- Lead portfolio planning, pipeline (claims and NPD) alignment and planning stages working closely with Franchise Leaders and Commercial Squad Leaders.
- Lead cross-functional team to ensure regulatory strategies, claims strategies (clinical testing plans) and patent strategies are developed, aligned, and executed on time and on budget. Ensure pipeline is coherent with the long-term Equity Strategy.
- Lead cross-functional R&D team to ensure high standards, efficacy requirements, and safety testing are aligned and completed, and ensures future proofing of the product portfolio in light of changing external environment and regulations.
- Responsible for connecting with the Global R&D community to ensure alignment & maximise synergies between Global and Regional innovation pipelines - and ensuring consistency and synergy with Dr Ci:Labo in Japan.
- Develop an impactful team of R&D professionals that ranges from deep technical mastery to business leadership and partnering
- Seeking opportunities to further grow and accelerate DCL brand equity through strong science & ingredient stories.

**Qualifications**:
**What we are looking for**

Required Qualifications
- Experience in the consumer goods sector with multi-year experience in managing teams, developing new production innovations
- Being able to connect cross-functionally building strong interdependent partnership internally and externally required.
- Background & credibility in Skin Science / Biology preferred to help engage with external partners (Health Care Professionals, Distributors, KOL’s)
- Strong leadership skills with the ability to influence and constructively challenge the project team and business partners. Set strategic direction for innovation pipeline and to achieve project goals.
- Very organized, driven, able to challenge and grow cross-functional teams at all levels, and must be willing and capable of being a change agent.
- Consistent track record of building successful teams with a passion for talent development.
- Fluent in Mandarin Chinese / able to converse with confidence on science and technology
- Desired Qualifications
- A minimum of a Bachelor's or Master's degree with >10 years of proven experience is required, Biology/Chemistry/Chemical Engineering/Pharmacology degrees preferred but not required.
- Multi-Functional experience across formulation, processing, claims, packaging & consumer science
