Kelly Science & Clinical is seeking a Senior or Principal Scientist, In Vivo Pharmacology for a direct hire opportunity with one of our clients, a stealth-mode biotechnology company in the Los Angeles, CA area. Position Summary: We are on the hunt for an exceptionally skilled Principal Scientist who is not only knowledgeable in in vivo pharmacology and bioanalytical sciences but also eager to spearhead IND-enabling studies. This role is pivotal in propelling our client’s CNS-targeted therapeutic programs forward. The successful candidate will report directly to the VP of Research and take charge of preclinical development, from conceptual study design and execution to insightful data interpretation and dynamic cross-functional collaboration. We seek a visionary with robust expertise in biologics—including antibodies, oligonucleotides, and peptides—and proficiency in bioanalytical methods, coupled with strong team leadership capabilities. Responsibilities: - Innovatively design and execute cutting-edge in vivo pharmacology studies integral to discovery and IND-enabling research. - Lead bioanalytical strategies, employing precise quantitative assays (ELISA, MSD, qPCR, LC/MS, histological methods) to scrutinize biodistribution, exposure, and pharmacodynamics. - Act as a crucial scientific liaison with CROs, academic collaborators, and internal stakeholders. - Foster cross-functional collaborations, ensuring seamless alignment with developmental objectives. - Offer profound interpretations of preclinical study data and actively contribute to regulatory submissions, especially IND packages. - Inspire, manage, and mentor upcoming talent—junior scientists and research associates. - Drive strategic planning for CNS programs, evaluating breakthrough drug delivery platforms and therapeutic possibilities. Qualifications: - Ph.D. in pharmacology, neuroscience, bioengineering, or a related field, backed by over 8 years of influential industry experience. - Comprehensive expertise in drug development spanning discovery through preclinical stages, culminating in IND-enabling achievements. - Proven history of executing IND-enabling studies with insightful data integration. - Solid experience with large-molecule therapeutics (antibodies, oligonucleotides, peptides) using in vivo models. - Profound understanding of bioanalytical techniques relevant to PK/PD and biodistribution studies. - Preferred experience in CNS drug delivery or CNS disease models. - Exceptional leadership skills with demonstrated success in team management and mentoring. - Outstanding communication, organizational, and leadership acumen.
