Position Description The Department of Intercollegiate Athletics at California State University, Dominguez Hills (CSUDH) invites highly qualified, motivated, and well-organized applicants for a pool of Assistant Women's Track and Field Coach appointments. Organization Department of Intercollegiate Athletics Overview and Mission The Athletic Department administers an intercollegiate athletic program sponsoring four (4) Men’s teams and six (6) Women’s teams. A member of Division II of the NCAA, CSUDH competes in the California Collegiate Athletic Association (CCAA). Other functions of the unit include public relations, sports information, athletic training, fund-raising, scheduling of campus athletics facilities and recruitment and retention of student-athletes. The Position The assistant coach is responsible for assisting with the operations of the Women’s Track and Field program in accordance with NCAA, CCAA Conference and University rules, regulations and policies. Responsibilities - Recruiting - Scheduling - Planning - Organizing - Fundraising - Monitoring academic performance - Promoting intercollegiate athletics and other duties as assigned by the head coach Required Qualifications - Bachelor’s degree or relevant experience required. - Experience working with undergraduates from diverse age, socioeconomic, cultural, and academic backgrounds. Preferred Qualifications - A Master’s degree Employment Requirements Background Check: Satisfactory completion of a background check (including a criminal records check) is required for employment. Compensation and Benefits Initial salary for Coaching Assistant - 12 Month is based on professional experience and educational background and is determined by the hiring department. As of July 2024, the classification salary range is: - Coaching Assistant-12 (Job Code 2382): $6,288 - $7,658 An excellent comprehensive benefits package is available to benefit-eligible appointments and includes health, vision, and dental plans; fee-waiver for spouses, domestic partners and dependents; access to campus child care; and a defined-benefit retirement through the state system along with optional tax sheltering opportunities.
