Sr. Engineering Lead

Accountabilities - Lead and manage a globally distributed engineering organization, fostering alignment and accountability. - Define and execute the technical roadmap in partnership with stakeholders. - Architect and scale high-performing, cost-effective infrastructure for AI-driven solutions. - Drive engineering excellence across delivery, quality, and documentation. - Oversee hiring, organizational design, and team performance. - Collaborate with cross-functional leaders on long-term investment priorities. - Implement systems that prioritize automation, security, and reliability. - Manage contractors effectively and ensure integration with full-time teams. - Provide technical mentorship and assist with architecture and code as needed. - Represent Engineering in executive meetings and contribute to company-wide decisions. - Champion continuous improvement and engineering fundamentals across teams. - Support IT team members to enhance organizational success and security. Requirements - 10+ years in software engineering, with 5+ years in leadership roles. - Experience managing distributed teams and international contractors. - Strong technical intuition for high-level system architecture and decision-making. - Engagement in tech and cannabis communities to understand industry dynamics. - Familiarity with AI/ML platforms and automation tooling. - Background in startups or scale-ups, with experience building engineering orgs. - Expertise in organizational design and people development. - Excellent leadership and communication skills, with a focus on accountability. - Ability to thrive in ambiguity and utilize systems for operational scaling. - Experience in cannabis, supply chain, or B2B platforms is a plus. - Eligibility to pass a background check.
