Senior EHS Specialist

About the Role

We are seeking a Senior EHS Specialist to lead our Environmental Compliance efforts at Goodyear's PE - CALLAO location.

Primary Responsibilities

• EHS System Compliance: Ensure adherence to ISO45001 and ISO14001 standards, as well as local laws and corporate requirements, within the EHS management system.
• Audit and Compliance Verification: Conduct and monitor integrated corporate audits of EHS processes to verify compliance with corporate objectives.
• New Legislation Evaluation: Assess new and current environmental health and safety legislation to ensure compliance and identify areas for improvement.
• EHS Culture Strengthening: Support and develop initiatives to enhance the EHS culture within the organization.
• EHS Strategy Development: Collaborate on developing strategies to support the 'Zero Serious Injury' goal, focusing on prevention and risk mitigation.

Main Responsibilities

• Policy Adherence: Comply with company policies and relevant global EHS objectives.
• EHS Management System: Ensure that the EHS management system meets the requirements of ISO45001 and ISO14001.
• Audits and Reviews: Support internal and external audits of EHS processes and systems, reviewing and analyzing results to implement improvements.
• EHSS and Legal Requirements: Review, analyze, and manage the implementation of new mandatory EHSS and/or new and current legal requirements.
• EHS Activities and Projects: Develop and support EHS activities, collaborating on EHS projects to drive progress towards the 'Zero Serious Injury' goal.
• Integrated Management Systems Committee: Participate in meetings of the Integrated Management Systems Committee, supporting the discussion and resolution of EHS-related matters.
• Action Plan Implementation: Assist in the realization of action plans for closing non-conformities identified during EHS audits.
• Training and Development: Coordinate training sessions on EHS for plant personnel, ensuring their understanding and compliance with relevant regulations and procedures.
• Pillar Subcommittee Leadership: Act as leader of the PEC Pillar subcommittee, guiding the team's efforts in driving EHS excellence.
• EHS Statistics and Trends: Manage statistics and trends related to EHS, providing insights to inform decision-making and improve performance.
• ISO Certifications: Support the maintenance of ISO 9001, ISO14001, ISO 45001, and IATF16949 certifications, contributing to the overall quality and environmental stewardship of the organization.

Requirements

• Education: Graduate degree in Engineering (Industrial, Chemistry, Safety or Environmental), occupational health professional, or professional in EHS (SST) is required. A license in SG-SST (Sistema de Gestión en Seguridad y Salud en el Trabajo) is also required.
• Experience: A minimum of 3 years of experience in safety, industrial hygiene processes, and/or environmental roles, as well as a minimum of 2 years of experience in industrial processes. Experience working in plants with labor unions is desired.

Estimated Salary Range: $85,000 - $110,000 per year
