Job Summary:

This position is responsible for leading major engineering projects, including emulsion plant design/construction and site upgrades across the DNA business in Latin America. The successful candidate will coordinate and supervise project teams to complete all engineering deliverables while staying on schedule and budget.

  • Act as technical authority for process design on major regional DNA engineering projects.
  • Oversee technical deliverables on all Latin American projects to ensure technical quality and customer satisfaction.
  • Organize and prioritize multiple projects simultaneously with diverse teams.
  • Communicate effectively with customers, both within and outside the company.
  • Manage ambiguity and customer expectations.
  • Demonstrate ownership and accountability within teams to deliver results.
  • Create a culture of mutual respect, trust, accountability, and teamwork.
  • Demonstrate a strong commitment to safety and lead by example.
  • Develop or delegate key engineering deliverables according to project requirements.
  • Ensure design compliance with external regulatory requirements, company engineering standards, and HSE regulations for the manufacture of explosives and hazardous materials.
  • Direct third-party engineering design resources to produce deliverables meeting expectations.
  • Direct contractors and trades in the field, providing guidance and answering questions during construction and start-up.
  • Support emulsion sites in solving technical issues and driving compliance to company and regulatory standards.
  • Other duties as assigned.

What We Are Looking For:

  • A minimum of 8 years' relevant industry experience as an engineer (mineral processing/mining, industrial chemical manufacturing plants, oil & gas, etc.).
  • Experience in bulk explosives processes is preferred.
  • Fluency in Spanish and English, with strong communication skills in both languages.
  • Ability to connect and interact with people at all levels.
  • A proven track record in detailed process design, drafting specifications, equipment selection, and system installation.
  • Strong knowledge of regional codes, standards, and laws.
  • Demonstrated ability to work according to best engineering practices.
  • Proven track record of project engineering in all phases (conception, design, execution).
  • Hands-on experience in plant construction, equipment installation, commissioning, and process troubleshooting.
  • Working knowledge of AutoCAD.
  • Experience designing, reading, and working from P&IDs.
  • Ability to motivate and drive teams to maximum performance and positive project outcomes.
  • Demonstrated problem-solving skills, capable of seeing both the big picture and fine details.
  • Working knowledge of process instrumentation and controls.
  • Ability to travel approximately 30% of the time, with potential for additional international travel.

The estimated annual salary for this position is $120,000-$180,000 based on the location and job requirements.
