Water Treatment Plant Operations Manager

We are seeking a highly skilled Water Treatment Plant Operations Manager to join our team in Peru. As a key member of our operations team, you will be responsible for ensuring the safe and efficient operation of our reverse osmosis water treatment plant(s).
In this role, you will work closely with our Engineering/Project Management, Field Services, and Business Development teams to facilitate further growth of our business. You will also lead and manage local Operations staff to maximize plant uptime, drive efficiency, and maintain a safe work environment.
Duties and Responsibilities:- Leadership of all plant supervisors and operators – direct supervisory responsibility over entire operation
- Review/recommend/implement/maintain and lead Environmental Health and Safety initiatives
- Work with General Manager and business management to prepare budgetary estimates for annual operating costs and results
- Review and approve all expenditures; make decisions on expenditures, operational actions, and requests from the management of the mine
- Ensure ongoing operating costs fall within budgeted estimates – communicate with General Manager and business management any potential variances to planned operating expense budgets
- Make recommendations on Human Resource matters
- Serve as site leader/coordinator for plant-related projects – lead communication with Peru Operations Support, Field Engineering teams, Design/Engineering, and mine operator
- Develop and refine preventive maintenance plans and lead maintenance and operations activities for plant
- Drive timely, on-budget project execution – serve as liaison with local sub-contractors, etc.
- Ensure all preventive maintenance programs are completed on time and documented as such
- Lead the ongoing training for supervisors and operators on system operation and maintenance
- Provide detailed documentation of plant condition(s) and accurate/timely field reports
- Make recommendations for system improvements to management
- Understand drawings including mechanical piping, P&ID's, electrical and general equipment
- Create a safe work environment and maintain clean site appearance
- Minimum five years of experience in leading the operation of a water plant
- Experienced in construction, operation, and maintenance of water plant systems
- University degree (Engineering or Business) or technical school education preferred
The estimated salary for this position is $120,000 per year, depending on experience. We offer a competitive benefits package, including health insurance, retirement savings plan, and paid time off.
