A dynamic and challenging role awaits an accomplished professional at NEWREST, one of Malaysia's leading banking groups. As a key member of our team, you will be responsible for driving strategic credit decisions that align with our business objectives.

Job Summary:

The Vice President, Credit Evaluation is a pivotal position in our organization. You will work closely with our business units to ensure timely completion of credit evaluations and suggest risk mitigating terms as needed. Your expertise will help us achieve an optimal proposition by moderating differences in views between credit evaluation and business units.

You will also be responsible for staying abreast of market trends affecting existing and future credit exposures. This includes reviewing and approving credit ratings submitted by business units, recommending upgrades or downgrades as necessary. Additionally, you will exercise delegated credit approving powers within authorized limits when required.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Make informed credit approving decisions that balance business needs with risk considerations.
  • Collaborate with business units to ensure timely completion of credit evaluations and suggest risk mitigating terms as needed.
  • Moderate differences in views between credit evaluation and business units to achieve an optimal proposition.
  • Attend client presentations and meetings to gain a deeper understanding of customer operations and risks.
  • Stay abreast of market trends affecting existing and future credit exposures.
  • Review and approve credit ratings submitted by business units, recommending upgrades or downgrades as necessary.
  • Exercise delegated credit approving powers within authorized limits when required.
Requirements:
  • Degree in Banking, Finance, Economics, Accounting, Information Technology, or a related field.
  • Certified Credit Professional or similar credit-related certification.
  • Minimum 8 years of experience in credit-related roles.
