**WHAT WE CAN ACHIEVE TOGETHER**:
The **Policy and Conservation Coordinator** supports Peru’s conservation program and strategy teams to engage effectively with public and private interested parties to advance towards TNC’s biodiversity conservation and climate goals with a system thinking approach. She/He works with program and strategy leaders to define conservation priorities and long-term conservation strategies and goals, builds strategic, scientific, and technical capacity in the field, and develops key partnerships with public and private organizations to identify and resolve technical issues and to widely communicate solutions and best practices. She/he develops and/or contributes to the development of innovative scientific methods, analyses, tools, and frameworks to address the natural system needs, engage local community support for local conservation efforts, and negotiate complex and innovative solutions with government agencies and the private sector to conserve and protect natural communities, and to contribute to the wellbeing of people. She/He may work in variable weather conditions, at remote locations, on difficult and hazardous terrain and under physically demanding circumstances. **The Policy and Conservation Coordinator** conducts and supports analysis, design, and adoption of public policy proposals of the Peru Program and its strategies. She/He identifies advocacy opportunities, promote strategic alliances for systemic change. Facilitates multi-stakeholder platforms and produces 'policy briefs'. She/He participate in national processes that converge with global processes, including global conventions (i.e., CBD, UNFCCC). She/He coordinates with regional and global policy teams, and specific working groups (Carbon markets, NBS, REDD+, LEAF, etc.). She/He follows up on prioritization processes for bilateral and multilateral financing, identifies public funding opportunities in coordination with the respective TNC units, and leads planning and drafting of proposals for public funding.

**WHAT YOU'LL BRING**:
**Minimum requirement**
- BA/BS degree and 4 years’ experience in similar positions in conservation and sustainable development practice or equivalent combination of education and experience in marine, terrestrial and freshwater ecosystems.
- Experience with environmental policies and institutional dynamics in Peru, and global sustainable development, biodiversity and climate-related conventions and their national planning, implementation, and monitoring instruments.
- Experience with technical skills in the required fields of action, analytical and synthesis capability, and a strong operational point of view.
- Experience developing, influencing, implementing, and monitoring environmental policies and plans. Politically savvy.
- Experience in system thinking, planning, design, and management of complex or multiple programs and projects, including staffing, workloads, and finances under deadlines.
- Experience working in a team-based environment with internal and external partners.
- Organizational skills and attention to detail experience.
- Experience with the institutional framework of Peru and experience in partnership development with non-profit partners, community groups and/or government agencies.
- Experience in fundraising, including identification of donor prospects, donors’ cultivation at national and international levels.
- Communication skills, including experience communicating and presenting to various audiences, including government and private sector, donors, board members, employees, local communities, among others.
- Spanish and English skills to communicate via written, spoken, and graphical means.
