Coordinator, Digital Education

The Museum has a new, exciting opportunity for an Education, Media or Museum professional to join our education team as a coordinator, primarily responsible for developing web content. This role requires high-quality education expertise and experience developing and producing educationally rich online content for an audience of Australian teachers and students.

The Education Business Unit has two sections, Onsite and Digital. Both sections manage education programming and resources for schools, students and teachers. This position will work primarily in the Digital section, as the Museum works towards redeveloping its digital education website.

The Digital Education section works across the Museum and closely with the Head of Education and Onsite Education team to ensure the strategic and operational outcomes of the business unit are achieved with the effective use of resources and alignment of outputs and activities.

**Key accountabilities**

Clear and concise writing skills are crucial, as is the ability to think creatively. Content production skills, including content planning and video pre-production skills are highly desirable but not essential. Experience supervising staff is also desirable.

**Skills, experience and qualifications**
- Essential:_
- Demonstrated experience initiating, developing, and delivering engaging and innovative online Education/Multimedia Museum products. These products should be aligned to the Australian Curriculum and aimed at students, teachers and educators.
- An excellent understanding of contemporary digital education resources, project management skills that deliver quality results, and experience seeking internal and external expertise and collaborating on the creation of digital learning resources.
- A demonstrated history of being a compatible team player with leadership capability.
- Strong understanding of education theory, practice and trends particularly through digital platforms to engage teachers and students across metro, regional and remote Australia.
- Demonstrated understanding of, and interest in, Australian history and Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander histories and cultures and a willingness and capacity to continue to further this understanding.
- Demonstrated commitment to a child safe and child friendly environment and personal skills that support and enhance children’s positive engagement in the Museum and its digital products.
