Summarized Purpose:
Provides site support through the performance of assigned tasks related to facility services, building maintenance, engineering projects, and/or equipment maintenance.
Essential Functions and Other Job Information:
Essential Functions
- May performs facility support tasks related to one or multiple functions such as building security issues and access system maintenance, shipping and receiving, distribution of mail to employees, furniture and equipment moves, and conference room set up.
- May perform building or equipment maintenance tasks including the completion of work orders, scheduled routine maintenance, preventative maintenance and repairs.
- Responds to facility related emergencies, as assigned.
- Performs all other duties as assigned by location.
**Job Qualification**:
Qualifications:Education and Experience:High / Secondary school diploma or equivalent and relevant formal academic / vocational qualificationTechnical positions may require a certificatePrevious experience that provides the knowledge, skills, and abilities to perform the job (comparable to 0 to 1 year) or equivalent combination of education, training, and experience.Knowledge, Skills and Abilities:Ability to follow directions and perform tasks efficiently and accuratelyPositive attitude and the ability to interact effectively with othersGood oral and written communication skillsBasic computer skillsUnderstanding of office equipment and machineryMay require general knowledge of building and maintenance such as electrical, plumbing, HVAC and construction codesMay require knowledge of shipping service operations and software such as FedEx, UPS, etc.May require basic understanding of security systemsManagement Role:No management responsibilityWorking Conditions and Environment:Work is performed in an office and/or a laboratory and/or a clinical environment with exposure to electrical equipment.May occasionally drive to site locations. Potential Occasional travel required.Physical Requirements:Frequent mobility required.May be stationary for 4-6 hours per day.Repetitive hand movement of both hands with the ability to make fast, simple, repeated movements of the fingers, hands, and wrists.Frequent crouching, stooping, bending and twisting of upper body and neck.Light to moderate lifting and carrying (or otherwise moving) objects, including luggage and laptop computer, with a maximum lift of 25 lbs. required frequently.Lifting / carrying objects of 26-50+ lbs. required occasionallyAbility to access and use a variety of computer software developed both in-house and off-the-shelf.Ability to communicate information and ideas so others will understand; with the ability to listen to and understand information and ideas presented through spoken words and sentences.May interact with others, relating and gathering sensitive information. Interaction includes diverse groups.Works with guidance or reliance on oral or written instructions from management. May require periods of intense concentration.Performs a wide range of variable tasks as dictated by variable demands and changing conditions with little predictability as to the occurrence. Ability to perform under stress.
