**What will you do**

The Principal AWS Engineer is responsible for engineering cloud automation capabilities for AWS Public Cloud. AWS Senior Engineer will be part of the Cloud Engineering team which is responsible for building automated provisioning and platforming engineering abstraction for improved developer experience.

The Cloud Engineering team ensures public cloud services are provisioned in a timely manner to Business partners. The Cloud Engineering team also ensures the various public cloud services remain compliant to the highest of security and best practice standards.

**Key Responsibilities**
- Design solutions for automated provisioning and compliance of various AWS services using cloud-native capabilities and micro-services-based development.
- Partner with cross-functional teams in the design and development of various hybrid cloud capabilities. Facilitate design and review sessions between multiple teams including Application Engineering, Operations, Quality and Security teams.
- Partner with external service providers to provide talent and services to drive high standards
- Drive innovation through automation of services and capabilities
- Design, deploy and maintain complex AWS-based infrastructure and solutions, ensuring scalability, reliability, and security
- Collaborate with multi-functional teams to gather and analyze requirements for cloud-based projects
- Develop and maintain automation scripts and infrastructure as code templates for deploying AWS resources and cloud foundation.
- Design and implement disaster recovery and business continuity strategies.
- Partner with external service providers to provide talent and services to drive high standards
- Drive innovation through automation of services and capabilities

Qualifications

Required Qualifications
- BA/BS required, preferably in STEM field
- 3+ years of relevant technology experience
- 3+ years of public cloud (AWS) experience.
- Strong expert level skills of AWS services including PaaS service
- Strong hands on design and architecture experience on AWS.
- Strong background in software engineering
- Hand-on experience in building solutions using various AWS services
- Hands on experience in one or more programming languages preferably Python
- Hands-on experience developing Cloud agnostic Infrastructure As Code pipeline using Terraform
- Strong understanding of agile development processes and Agile tool set JIRA
- Understanding of GIT-based source code management, Continuous Integration, and Continuous Delivery (CI/CD) practices using tools like Jenkins, Bitbucket, Artifactory, Groovy Scripting
- Experience in developing AWS Policies.
- Experience in deployment of multi-tenant Kubernetes platform
- Understanding of basic Linux kernel and window server operating system
- Experience in working with bash, PowerShell scripting.
- Must be able to solve complex business problems and present recommendations to management effectively.
- Must have good planning, organizational, analytical, and decision-making skills
- With little supervision, must be able to define, shape, and drive projects to completion while effectively collaborating strategically with others
- Must be able to lead and influence others
- Must be able to mentor, instruct, and review technical deliverables of junior staff and peer engineers
- Strong verbal and writing skills
- Must be results-driven, a quick learner, and a self-starter
