Overall Goal: Assist The Rehab Guys to become the “Consumer Reports of Medical Equipment” by creating memorable, comprehensive product reviews (both long-form written and short-form video format) that contain amusing / humorous / insightful characteristics that cause people to want to share and link to the reviews because of their high quality.

Job Activities:
Research and create an initial outline (skeleton) for written product reviews. - First - thoroughly research, brainstorm and record differences and similarities between a group of products. (Following the outline at the bottom of this document.) Next, the team will then edit the outline to add our professional input.
Use the written product review outline to write a shortened outline for a 2-5 minute product review video. This also will be edited and added upon by the CEO and CMO before production.
Work with CMO to maintain an editorial calendar for future product reviews and order the products needed for the upcoming reviews. Working with customer service to order the products, making sure the products are delivered, and then making sure the products are packed back up and inventoried for resale.

Product Review Setup Steps

The CMO will choose a product category (Ex: power tub lifts, wheelchair cushions, threshold ramps, pressure relief mattresses). The product review setup specialist will do the initial research and set up to allow CEO and CMO to maximize their efficiency at reviewing products, making videos and producing the final written content.

Online Product Research & Brainstorming:
Example Project: The 5 Best Power Bath Tub Lifts

Search for professional reviews about power bath lifts done online by others to get a head start on the research. Save the links.
Search for customer reviews and ratings on other web sites, like Amazon. Save a short summary of the findings, plus the links. Ex: Drive Medical Tub Lift on Amazon with 118 Customer Reviews
Brainstorm a list of common comparable features. Ex:
Width, Height, Weight
Battery life, battery charge time
Surface comfort and materials
Overall stability, anti-tipping, non-slipping
How far down into the bathtub does the lift go? (Seems to be important)
Hand controls
Price differences
Brainstorm an idea list of innovative / creative ways to test the products. Ex:
Weight test: Place 2-3 large 45lb weights on Mike’s lap and attempt 3 full up-down cycles on the power tub lift
Slip test (Not sure how to pull this off - maybe wrap in saran wrap)
Tip test: Attempt to tip left/right and pick up soap off the floor
Call on manufacturer’s reps to get insights on the benefits of their product
Create a sample comparison grid using 4-5 products and fill in the sections that you can with the information that you have (Ex: dimensions). Don’t fill anything in for things that must be tested (Ex: stability), but provide an empty column for it to be filled in later.
Brainstorm the list of potential sections for the written review
Brainstorm a list of potential FAQ
What important pictures would you take and feature? Save them to a file
Suggest conclusions, sub-titles, section headers
Along the way: research product review formats on other websites, bookmark
Post production: Choose best photos, write draft of review (or outsource), submit to CEO and CMO for editing
