- Our client is a leading developer in Taiwan and is seeking a (Lead) Mechanical Engineer for Offshore Substations to join their team in Taipei office.

Key Responsibilities
- Thrive as part of a multi-disciplinary team of technical specialists supporting all stages of the development of the offshore substation across our client's wind farms portfolio.
- Manage the Mechanical engineering activities and third-party design contract during the pre-FEED, FEED and Detailed Design stages of an offshore wind project, and then continue supporting the project on into fabrication and construction up to Transport, installation and handover.
- Manage the contractor within the mechanical, HVAC, and fire & safety scope to ensure a high quality offshore substation delivery which meets project targets.
- Review and guide contractor on general offshore substation layout,mechanical solutions, equipment design & specifications etc.
- Review contractor deliverable incl. concept design, detailed design and asbuilt documentation.
- Align interfaces with key internal stakeholders such as the Electrical Lead, Structural Lead, SCADA Lead, Quality Lead, O&M Lead.
- Liaise with external stakeholders such as the Project Certifying Body and Lender's Technical Advisor as necessary.
- Mentor and develop the junior and associate colleagues within the team and across the wider business.
- Ensure that all lessons learned from client's previous and current projects are incorporated into future projects
- Provide technical support to Procurement, Quality and HSSE departments
- Regular visits to Contractor's or subcontractor's predominantly in Europe and participation in equipment FAT as required.
- Site visits during fabrication and offshore works as required.

Qualifications & Key Skills
- Bachelor's or master's degree in mechanical engineering or equivalent.
- Having worked in a position as Mechanical Engineer for an offshore substation from initiation through design, fabrication, installation, and commissioning to completion.
- Experience in managing or working for external contractors such as offshore substation EPC contractors and equipment subcontractors/suppliers.
- Experience with systems such as crane systems, diesel genset and fuel systems, HVAC systems, fire & safety systems etc
- At least 5 years and above of working experience on offshore substation design
- Fluent in English both verbal and in writing - Mandarin is a plus.
- Willing to relocate to Taiwan.
- Willing to travel internationally in Europe and Asia for supplier visits and fabrication site visits as required.
