IFC 's ESG Advisory team works closely with investment, other advisory, and upstream teams and clients to (a) identify, and manage environmental and social risks and (b) improve ESG performance of firms and influence ESG practices market wide. Using an integrated ESG approach, IFC's ESG Advisory Services South America guides companies, financial institutions, regulators, exchanges, and market intermediaries to holistically address multiple risks across the ESG spectrum, build capacity, and remove ESG bottlenecks to investment. Our advice is aligned and consistent with the IFC ESG Standards comprising of IFC Corporate Governance Methodology and the IFC Performance Standards.

The team in South America, is recruiting a senior specialist to be based in Lima (Peru) to support upstream, advisory and mainstream activities. The person will report to the regional ESG Manager, South America.

**Duties and Accountabilities**

**Upstream and Advisory**
- In collaboration with Upstream officers and advisory teams, help develop upstream activities by using technical experience and expertise.
- Work proactively to identify opportunities for advisory engagements that result in greater development impact and value for the client; provide expert input into new IFC advisory offering.
- Serve as the local focal point for IFC with partners under the Integrated Environmental, Social and Corporate Governance (IESG) program, including, assisting in donor relations and reporting, and participating in meetings.
- Work closely with short-term consultants (STCs) and ESG specialists in the region to develop business opportunities and client proposals, manage projects and portfolios, and coordinate quality of work performed by the team. This also includes overseeing research and analysis for market and opportunity creation, including market mapping, review of industry related data to support new concept thesis developed by the team and industry partners.
- Support with developing project documents where applicable, including Concept Notes (CNs), Implementation Plan (IP), Project Supervision Reports (PSR), Project Completion Report (PCR) and collect and validate feedback from peers including industry, sector, product, and ESG specialists.
- Conduct various project management related tasks, as assigned and under the supervision of the Regional E&S Advisory Lead (REAL) for South America. These include: (a) Monitor budgets and spending; (b) Perform required tasks in IFC systems including upload relevant project information pertaining to budget, development results, project supervision reports, integrity due diligence; (c) Collect relevant evidence to substantiate project results.

**Mainstream Investment - Early Screening, Due Diligence, Portfolio supervision**
- Lead or contribute to the review of E&S issues/risks in new investments and select advisory engagements in multiple sectors (including infrastructure, manufacturing, services and agribusiness), and identification and development of risk mitigation measures and value-add solutions.
- Clear and proactive guidance to IFC investment teams on E&S risk management throughout the investment cycle.
- When leading E&S assessments, ensure effective and efficient use of staff, consultants, and resources, ensuring the timely completion of deliverables.
- Proactively monitor portfolio clients and engage with clients and investment departments to achieve compliance with IFC requirements.
- Document and communicate any outstanding or emerging gaps between client performance
