The Museum has an exciting opportunity for someone to join the Governance and Legal Services team to provide governance co-ordination and secretariat support services.

The role will be key to supporting the work of the Governance and Legal Services business unit, which manages sensitive and complex matters and provides high quality support to the Museum’s Council and Executive as well as managing liaison with the Department.

**The key duties of the position include**:
The position will be responsible for:

- providing secretariat services for meetings of the Museum’s Executive Management Group (EMG), Corporate Management Group (CMG) and committees of Council.
- maintaining the Museum’s policies and procedures.
- coordinating, writing and editing the annual report, Council and Committee papers, Museum policies and other corporate documents.
- Sound knowledge and understanding of governance processes
- Demonstrated ability to provide administrative and secretariat support
- High-level analytical, problem-solving, written communication and research skills
- The ability to deliver results and manage high volumes of work with competing priorities and deadlines
- Strong coordination and organisational skills
- Well-developed influencing and negotiation skills
- Excellent liaison skills will be required as well as strong judgement and the ability to deal with senior staff, often under limited supervision.

The incumbent will have proven experience in taking responsibility and achieving quality outcomes. Strong judgement and discretion will be required in this position.

**Selection criteria**
- Demonstrated ability to provide efficient, effective and high-quality secretariat, administrative support and coordination services.
- Well-developed written and oral communication skills, including strong interpersonal and liaison skills and an ability to adapt communication to a range of audiences.
- Demonstrated ability to work cooperatively in small team environments.
- Demonstrated ability to manage tasks and competing deadlines, ensuring high quality work is delivered on time.
