Product Development Lead

**Key Responsibilities**:
Reporting to the Director of Sourcing, the Product Development Lead will spearhead efforts in product development and delivery, driving excellence and efficiency in alignment with the values of High Performance, Team First, and Embracing Progression. This role involves leading a team to enhance product development processes, implementing best practices for communication and establishing key performance indicators (KPIs) to achieve a 95% on-time delivery rate and ensure effective internal collaboration. The Product Development Lead will define and implement processes and tools for seamless interaction between Product Managers and Developers, and continuously improve these workflows. Responsibilities include collaborating with Product Managers and suppliers to develop innovative products, materials, and systems, while maintaining rider empathy through active involvement in relevant categories. The role also encompasses managing product information and project timelines in Product Lifecycle Management (PLM) systems, delivering weekly status reports, and overseeing manufacturing quality by addressing field issues and working with Quality and Engineering teams. Additionally, the Product Development Lead will explore new sourcing options, foster strong supplier relationships, and collaborate with various teams to ensure timely product delivery. This position is essential for driving innovation, efficiency, and cross-functional teamwork within the organization.

**ROLE AND RESPONSIBILITIES***:TEAM MANAGEMENT**
- Lead a team to execute and improve product development and delivery
- Implement standard process / best practices for communication of development project
- Implement KPIs to ensure development project delivery goals.
- Success in this position is measure by building an effective and motivated team, 95% OT delivery rate for all developed projects, and seamless communication/collaboration between internal teams

**PROCESS DEVELOPMENT**
- Define and Implement Process/Tools for communication between Product Manager and Developer
- Continuous Improvement on process.

**PRODUCT DEVELOPMENT**
- Work with Product Managers and suppliers to develop new products, materials, finishes and systems in line with the design direction
- Work with LTP and manufacturers to develop new products, materials, finishes and systems in line with the design direction
- Ride, understand the needs of riders, participate in the categories you work on to bring rider empathy to the work you do.

**DATA MANAGEMENT**
- Manage Product information: pricing, approvals, test results, photos, color matching, development project specification and descriptions.
- Maintain Development Project status & timeline in PLM systems
- Maintain Graphic Project status & timeline in PLM systems
- Send Weekly Report(s) Every Monday on project status

**MANUFACTURING QUALITY**
- Communicate issues found in the field and work with Quality and Engineering teams to expedite our response and ability to solve them.
- Work with Quality and Engineering teams on the diagnosis and holding the vendors accountable when production issues are found.
- Work with Suppliers and uphold LTP policy and ensure vendor alignment with LTP strategy.
- Collaborate with Compliance to ensure ALL new products and combinations are tested

**SUPPLY CHAIN**
- Helping to discover new sourcing options & new technologies and introduce them to the team for future business consideration.
- Work with suppliers closely to build and maintain the relationship and trust
- Work with suppliers to improve product performance, quality, testing and delivery while pushing them to innovate both in product and manufacturing to bring new products to market with improved efficiency.
- Collaborate with Bike Development Team / Supply Chain Team to ensure on time delivery of products

**SERVICE PART**
- Work with Global Customer Service team to identify parts used, and provide information to purchasing

**TRAVEL**
- Attend Tradeshows, Vendors, Events, Field offices as needed.
- Up to 60% international and domestic travel

**Applicant Should Possess**:

- Bachelor’s degree in Engineering, Business Administration, or related field
- Five (5+) years proven experience in product development
- Strong project management skills with a successful track record of product launches on time and within budget.
- Excellent leadership, communication, and team collaboration abilities, both in English and Mandarin
- Experience working with international cultures
- Problem-solving abilities, with a track record of driving innovative solutions and resolving complex challenges
- Understanding of principles for intellectual property ownership and confidentiality
- Knowledge of bicycle assembly, process, material, logistic and delivery flow
