We are accelerating our transformation towards a cloud-first, data-driven, and resilient technology landscape. We are looking for a Cloud Architect with experience in designing and implementing cloud solutions, ideally in AWS or Azure, to join our team.

This role will contribute to the definition and implementation of secure, scalable, and compliant cloud architectures, ensuring alignment with the Group's global technology strategy while supporting local business needs.

The ideal candidate combines strong technical skills with solid communication and collaboration capabilities, being comfortable engaging with global teams and challenging existing approaches constructively when needed.

Key Responsibilities

• Design and document cloud architectures aligned with the global standards and regulatory requirements.
• Support the adoption of multi-cloud and hybrid architectures, ensuring security, resilience, and cost efficiency.
• Collaborate with development, infrastructure, and security teams to define architectural blueprints and technical guidelines.
• Contribute to the design of event-driven, data-centric, and AI-enabled architectures.
• Ensure compliance with Santander's Cloud Security, Network, and High-Availability frameworks.
• Provide input to governance and review processes, ensuring technical consistency across initiatives.
• Participate in technical discussions with global and regional teams, providing feedback and proposing improvements.
• Communicate architecture designs effectively to both technical and non-technical stakeholders.

WHAT ARE WE LOOKING FOR

Skills & Experience

• 3–4 years of hands-on experience in cloud architecture or engineering roles.
• Strong knowledge of AWS and/or Azure services and architectures.
• Experience designing distributed and multi-cloud systems.
• Understanding of event-driven and microservices-based architectures.
• Good knowledge of network, identity, and access management in cloud environments.
• Awareness of security, compliance, and data protection principles in cloud solutions.
• Experience in resilience and high-availability design.
• Familiarity with Infrastructure as Code (IaC) tools such as Terraform or Github Actions.
• Knowledge of AI, data architecture, and observability practices is a plus
• High English Level

Soft Skills

• Strong communication and presentation skills, able to articulate complex topics clearly.
• Comfortable speaking in public and presenting technical concepts to mixed audiences.
• Capable of constructively challenging global policies or architectural decisions when needed, always with a collaborative spirit.

Education & Certifications

• Bachelor's or Master's degree in Computer Science, Engineering, Telecommunications, or related fields.
•  Cloud certifications (AWS Solutions Architect Associate/Professional, Azure Architect Expert, etc.) are highly valued
