Greeter/Analyst | (Customer Service Representative)

Lima, Peru

The Greeter/Analysts perform the tasks listed below. The Greeter/Analysts may rotate between a Mission, DSC, or OFC depending on whether the country has such facilities and the distance between the facilities.

When working at a Mission, a Greeter/Analyst will perform the following tasks:

  • Provide information about application processing at the waiting area but not any specific visa information.
  • Greeters may work outside the Mission building or inside the waiting area of the consular section.
  • Coordinate the queues of Applicants into agreed upon time blocks, according to the time of their appointments.
  • Ensure that wait time is kept to a minimum if Applicants have any mental or physical limitations, such as a disabled, pregnant, or elderly Applicants.
  • Answer routine questions in a professional and efficient manner from Applicants who visit the Mission
  • Using GDIT supplied equipment, screen Applicants and facilitate efficient queuing of Applicants and their entry into and movement through the designated areas of the Mission.
  • When applicable, greeters will print and paste a barcode label on the back of applicant's passport after checking in the applicants into the system using an electronic device such as a tablet.
  • Verify an Applicant's documentation to ensure it is complete and in the proper order to facilitate the interview.
  • Identify deficiencies or omissions in visa application papers and properly inform the Applicant based on the guidance provided by the Mission.
  • Prepare documents to be picked up by courier vendor. This includes receiving passports from the Mission, checking the passports against the manifest provided by the Mission, and alerting the Mission and OM to any discrepancies.
  • Assist with arranging GSS mail already properly screened by the Mission's mailroom in the consular section under consular supervision during non-interview hours.
  • Distribute approved consular information/materials onsite at the Mission prior to Applicant interview and execute workflow efficiency studies by handing card with numbers to Applicants as they move through the various sections inside the Mission.
  • Wear a uniform provided by GDIT.
  • Ensure that the uniform is clean and fits properly.
  • Adhere to the security rules established by the Mission and GDIT.
  • Be alert to any evidence of fraud and report these instances immediately to GDIT's management.
  • Receive training and become knowledgeable in areas concerning consular information service as deemed necessary by the TOM or OM.
  • Operate, secure and maintain computers and electronic equipment assigned to Greeters as part of their duties.
  • Participate in GDIT's quarterly Greeter Security & Fraud Prevention Training.
  • Other duties as assigned by the TOM or OM.

When working at a DSC, a Greeter/Analyst will perform the following tasks:

  • Answer routine questions from Applicants who visit the DSC in a professional and efficient manner.
  • Process passports received from Mission daily by checking the passports into GDIT's system, putting them into envelopes, printing labels, and affixing these labels to the corresponding envelopes for pick up by Applicants at the DSC or for pick up by a courier vendor to be distributed in their network.
  • Ensure a high degree of accuracy in processing and managing passports to avoid lost or mishandled passports.
  • Deliver passports to Applicants who come to the DSC to pick up their passports.
  • In accordance with the instructions provided by GDIT, verify the identification of Applicants who appear at the DSC to pick up or drop off their passports and related documents.
  • Receive passports from Applicants who drop off their passports and related documents at the DSC.
  • In accordance with the instructions provided by GDIT, prepare the passports and documents received from Applicants at the DSC for delivery to the Mission.
  • Manage the inventory of passports and related documents at the DSC; lock passports and related documents in safes while being stored for pick up by the Applicants or delivery to the Mission.
  • In accordance with the instructions provided by GDIT, contact Applicants by phone or email to remind them to pick up their passports at the DSC.
  • Prepare any uncollected passports that have been held at the DSC for 30 days for return delivery to the Mission following the instructions provided by GDIT.
  • Wear a uniform provided by GDIT.
  • Ensure that the uniform is clean and fits properly.
  • Adhere to the security rules established by GDIT.
  • Be alert to any evidence of fraud and report these instances immediately to GDIT's management.
  • Receive training and become knowledgeable in areas concerning consular information as deemed necessary by the TOM or OM.
  • Operate, secure and maintain computers and electronic equipment assigned to greeters as part of their duties.
  • Participate in GDIT's quarterly Greeter Security &Fraud Prevention Training.
  • Other duties as assigned by the TOM or OM.

Staff may be rotated between various functions and areas on a regular basis to receive cross training of all support functions.

Required Greeter Qualifications:

Basic Qualifications:

  • High school diploma
  • Experience working with computers and Android tablet.
  • Background in customer service at least 1 year preferred but not required.
  • Professional appearance and demeanor
  • Excellent communication skills
