Overview

We are looking for an
IMS Administrator
to support a long-term Mainframe-as-a-Service operation. This role is essential for ensuring the stability, availability, and continuous improvement of IMS environments through effective physical and logical management.

Responsibilities

• Administer and maintain IMS systems, ensuring optimal performance and reliability.

• Manage logical and physical database structures and configurations.

• Perform and support IMS upgrades, patches, and version migrations.

• Monitor system performance, diagnose issues, and implement corrective actions.

• Oversee backup/restore processes and assist with disaster recovery readiness.

• Collaborate with cross-functional mainframe teams.

• Maintain documentation, procedures, and operational runbooks.

Requirements

• 3+ years of hands-on experience as an IMS Administrator.

• Strong understanding of IMS architecture, DB/DC environments, and control blocks.

• Experience with performance tuning and troubleshooting.

• Proven experience with IMS upgrades and modernization efforts.

• Familiarity with JCL, RACF, and mainframe operational standards.

• Able to work effectively in English (ESL welcome).

• Availability to work Central Time hours.
